Village Grill

Atmosphere/Environment: I wanted this place to be as cute as the pictures. I loved the outside area. I thought it was adorable but the inside not as expected. Service: staff was nice, helpful, and attentive Food: B+ It was good but typical for breakfast. No flavors that especially stood out significantly. I did like the seafood omelet. The hasbrowns weren't overly cooked and hard like I've had in the past. I did like that many sauces came in a to-go container so when I left, I could just put the sauce easily in the to-go box. If you want a chill place to get lunch, brunch, or breakfast, go before 10 am to sit in the outside area. It's a cute space.

Old-timey breakfast restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Don't get fooled by the shabby exterior impression. The menu is probably not very suitable for kids though, all very savory, even the waffles and pancakes. Toilet was clean but there was only one toilet (per gender) which seems not enough given the large guest capacity of the restaurant. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious! From the outside it looked much smaller.

Nice diner in downtown Bakersfield open for breakfast and lunch (6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) The food is good and a good variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, salads and burgers with large portions. They are limited in their kids menu and seniors menu as they only have a few items that are categorized as both for seniors and kids on the menu. They also do specials and have indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good and friendly and the interior was clean but can be noisy. Patio dining is nice and well shaded to keep cool during hot summer afternoons.

Thank you village grill for my wonderful lunch. This was my first time here and the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was cozy. She sat us in a booth by the front window. I couldn't decide on the Shrimp Louie or the Pastrami Rueben, so I finally decided on the Rueben and it was delicious. My daughter got the Grilled Veggie Sandwich and it was also tasty. I did see the Shrimp Louie go by and I will order that next time. Definitely recommend this eaterie.

Village Grill is on the list as one of the top ten’s restaurants to eat breakfast in Bakersfield. They are known for having great breakfast entrees, served hot and fresh. I have never had lunch here, however, my friends all say it is great place for lunch. I ordered the Taco omelette, comes with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Taco omelette was huge, it was delicious, but couldn’t eat it all. Biscuits and gravy were outstanding, fresh biscuits with tasty sausage gravy. Definitely will be back.
