Come for the breakfast, stay for the pie! 2-meat omelet: overstuffed and delicious; side of grits was perfect. Chocolate pie: very chocolaty and delicious. Banana pie: not pudding, just full of perfectly ripe bananas and a giant heap of whipped cream. Biscuits: melt in your mouth yummy. Waitstaff: amazing!

What a great place! I had the 3 meat omelet which was fantastic! The omelet could have had a bit more cheese, but was still good. The service there was top notch!

Delicious home-cooked meals in a fun, nostalgic atmosphere. Service was amazingly fast by friendly wait staff. Worth every dime! Coconut pie was the bomb; we had been told by several locals that it was the best! It was sweet but not too much coconut. Perfect! Looking forward to trying the chocolate pie we took to go.

Visited family in Shreveport, and we were looking for a good place to have breakfast. We all were new to eating here, but...... wow, was it good! We all got breakfast, and even the baby ate well! The only thing is we wish we had made it in early to try their biscuits! We heard good things about them, but they were sold out!! Must be good if you run out daily!! The menu gives you the warning that they only serve them between certain hours and that they may run out! Either way, it was a great find and we really enjoyed it! Even spent time poking around in the antique shop next door afterward.

Strawn’s is one of my favorite places on the planet. They have daily lunch specials, a variety of breakfast, home cooked meal favorites, and of course their ice boxed pies. The wait staff is always kind and courteous, the food comes out hot and tasty, the dining area and restrooms are always clean, and it’s like eating with your neighbors as there is always lively chatter from table to table. Strawn’s took the concept of the American Diner and improved on it. They still do not ship their world famous pies, so you’ll have to travel to Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana, to see what all the fuss is about. I have now traveled to Louisiana with a handful of friends and they are all amazed and really happy with Strawn’s and their pies! So start a summer road trip to check them out!
