Very impressed with this updated diner style restaurant. Their desserts looked amazing, though we didn't try any. The food we did try was great, came quickly, and with excellent service and attention all around. We plan to return for sure.
The food is great and the staff is quick and polite. I am from Maryland and approve of their crab cakes. If you know, you know. Gyro is pretty good as well. It would be great if they put just a touch more meat on it.
Food was really yummy. It wasn't overly crowded even though it was busy. Atmosphere was pleasant. Plenty of room in the back parking lot. Greeter was very friendly. Only complaint was waitress was very much not friendly. Obviously either a bad day or the one off for the place. Would have given five stars but it was so obvious that she was almost mad at us for being there.
Service and food can be hit or miss here. Sometimes the server will be attentive and ask about drink refills, other times they don't. Recently we were one of only 3-4 tables at dinnertime and was seated by the hostess. We waited 10 minutes and after no one came over despite several workers looking at us I found the hostess and asked if we had a server. She put us in a section where the waitress was on break. There have been other times where a younger server was just going through the motions. She even told us that one of the cakes in the dessert case was over a week old, she thinks. Instead of checking with management, she just blurted out something. Very unmotivated. But, there are several servers who are very good. As for food, again hit or miss. Fish basket much better than fish sandwich. Turkey sandwich, bacon, meatloaf, chicken fried steak all very good. California medley vegetable looked and tasted like it had been in hot water the entire day. Tasteless and colorless. But, the chili is excellent!. Prices aren't bad and portion size is usually pretty good as well. The dinner entrée chicken tenders has 6 pieces but not the highest quality tenders available. For some reason, the restaurant is kept on the cooler side. I would think that you would want a warm, welcoming temperature in the middle of winter? I kept a sweatshirt on as did my wife. Even then it was chilly.
An all around great dining experience. ???? A family oriented diner with a wide variety of options, and all day breakfast. There were six of us dining here today and we told the waitress we were pressed for time and our food was prompt. And delicious.???? Four of my dining companions got a form of a wrap. I know one was a buffalo chicken wrap, and another was a chicken, bacon, ranch or something like that. They all enjoyed their meals which came with a bag of Utz chips and a pickle spears. My boyfriend opted for the Sunnyside breakfast with french toast and crispy bacon ????. There is no gluten free menu, sorry celiacs, but I was able to order a Sunnyside panini sandwich without the bread. ???????????????? I chose sweet potato fries instead of the chips in an effort to eat healthier. My fries were cooked to perfection. Yum! The waitress was appropriately attentive, though busy, friendly, and professional (I didn't catch her name ???????????). The restaurant was cute and clean, and the bathroom well stocked. We found it awesome that not only did they offer feminine products you may have forgotten, but also diapers. A true family oriented experience. We're leaving in the morning, but if we're ever back in town, this would definitely be a repeat for us. If you like honest, detailed reviews, follow me for more.
