Show Down Steakhouse & Saloon

Good find for a late night steak and beer while passing through, the steaks were a bit too salty but great nonetheless. Really good service and food, if you find yourself in MT Vernon I’d eat here any day. Plus! They had delicious bread similar to top steakhouses.

Excellent find today using Google Maps. The staff here were very attentive to our needs and really friendly. The food came out exactly as ordered. It was very good and came out quickly. This place is a local favorite and I can understand why. It is easy to find and close to Interstate 64. There is plenty of parking in their large free parking lot.

Had steak sandwich tender cook just right, was a nice thick piece of meat. Wife had Italian beef said was excellent. Only ding not much to choose from beef wise and menue limited

This was my first visit to Show Down Steakhouse. I was visiting relatives in this little town of Mount Vernon. A couple of other relatives had also flown in for a visit. I took them all to dinner. I had a (Maddog) burger with bbq sauce and bacon cooked to medium. It was juicy and tasty. A couple of others got the same and said theirs was great too. A couple of steaks were enjoyed by others. One guest, who has traveled the world and has eaten at fine establishments exclaimed that his was one of the best steaks he’d ever eaten. He got this look of astonishment on his face after each bite. :) That was a pleasant surprise from this small town steakhouse. (He ordered the NY Strip.) The service was excellent. Our waitress took very good care of us. Other waitresses, if they happened to be walking by, would sometimes even ask us if we were doing good. There were many drink orders, so we kept them busy. The atmosphere is mediocre. Lighting is florescent and bright. Steakhouses more often provide warmer lighting. The place did seem pretty clean and they have a cool cowboy statue at the entrance. :)

We came on a Tuesday afternoon, the service was awesome. Food was great. Love the atmosphere. We will come again.
