Mt Vernon Family Restaurant

Imagine if you will a huge Country Fried Pork Chop smothered in white gravy, sitting beside the perfectly baked potato slathered in real butter. Grilled green beans await their turn on a separate platter, grilled to perfection. It looked and smelled so delicious, I didn't wait to take a before photo... so here is the after. Now, to finish it off, Blackberry pie with ice cream! YUM!

The food is pretty good and NORMALLY staff is pleasant but the lady i had today was super rude. Never ordered over the phone before, told them the KIDS meal i normally get, but when my husband got home with food and a way higher bill than normal. When calling back to figure out the issue the girl i talked to was nice and explained everything but the issue was i had been charged for an adult meal instead of kids meal. (The amt given to me was the same as i always get) and she assured me someone would call back to resolve the issue. Lady called back that took my order and was rude and berading me that i supposedly never said kids meal, dispite me and multiple others present when i ordered hearing me say it. It isnt about the money its about how the person who called back treating me. And since the person who took my order called back and was rude i never heard from a manager

Went to have breakfast with my daughter. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Kept our drinks full. Food was awesome and hot. More than we expected. Had to get to go boxes. Will definitely eat there again.

I had the French dip which was just steakums w/Swiss cheese. Mom had the burger, it was good. Waitresses switched out, they were obviously not happy with each other. And let us know it. Asked for To go cups...2.00 for a soda and they would not even give us fresh ones...all restaurants give fresh to go cups. By the time I got back to Marionville both mother and I were sick. I suspect it was the fries they tasted old and only thing we both ate. To make matters worse the first waitress spilled an brand new glass of Dr Pepper when we sat down all over me. Honestly, I was very nice about it told her not to worry...but she didn't bring me a towel, or apologize. Had to go grocery shopping I went sticky pants. Not a good experience.

Had the spinach and mushroom omelette, with fresh fruit and pancakes. The fruit was ripe and sweet, the pancakes were soft and fluffy, and the omelette was delicious with fresh avocado on the top. Quick and friendly service. Overall very impressed with the food quality.
