The restaurant area was neat and clean. The young lady behind the counter was professional and polite. We went before 5pm believing all the food would be hot and fresh. We ordered the rib & chicken combo to go. We thought we were getting ribs and the bbq chicken. We received end pieces of the ribs and chicken wings. They were very dry and it was almost like eating jerky. The sides were alright. We had cole slaw, green beans, potato salad, and Mac &cheese. I liked the potato salad and green beans the better of the four. They were true to the southern ways to sweet tea and lemonade. Maybe, down the road, we'll give it another try, but go earlier in the day in hopes of not having dry and end piece portions that cost $40 and a tip. I was very disappointed especially after looking at other photo reviews before eating from here.
We got 2 BBQ sandwiches, 2 orders of fries, and an order of okra. Almost 30 bucks and every bit of it went in the trash. They claimed we were waiting on fries to cook but they were so cold when we finally got them(15 minutes later), the meat was gross, and the BBQ sauce wasn't even enough to cover a quarter of the meat. Overall do not recommend. Wasted money
Short Review: The ribs are amazing! The pulled pork is awful and inedible. Wings and sausage are very good. The sides are solid. The sauce was super mediocre. Longer Review: We stopped in on our way to Florida from KC last night. I ordered the Combo plate. It comes with 4 wing pieces, 2 ribs, a hunk of sausage, and your choice of two sides. I got the baked beans and potato salad. The ribs are some of the best I've ever had - great flavor, moist, tender. Who needs sauce anyway? The wings had really good flavor and were very tender but the skin was a bit soggy. This is pretty common for smoked wings if they sit for a bit. The sausage was also very good but tough to get through the casing with the plastic utensils that were provided. I liked the beans and potato salad. My daughter got a pulled pork sandwich plate with green beans and mac and cheese. The sandwich was wrapped in foil. When she tried to eat it, the bun was too soggy to use so she just dumped the meat on the plate. The meat was just weird. It had a funny texture, a very odd flavor, and it was extremely dry. I tried to doctor it up with the sauce but that didn't help much. She threw most of it away. She did devour the sides though. She really enjoyed the mac & cheese. Summary: Get the ribs, chicken, and sides. Stay as far away from the pulled pork as possible.
The Best BBQ I have had lately. I ordered the chicken plate (1/2 chicken) with fried okra and potato salad. The chicken was so flavorful didn't need the sauce and juicy. I couldn't stop eating......
The smoked chicken had no flavor. It was fresh out of the smoker, so it was hot but had 0 seasoning on it. The chicken on a stick was actually seasoned well but was over cooked, dry and the vegetables were burnt. It has definitely changed and not for the good.
