M & J Home Cooking Country Buffet

My patient and I come in every once In while and the Waitress are always wonderful always welcoming and coming around and making sure everyone is okay. Food is really good country food fired fish, chicken, salmon patties, all kinds of veggies fried and boiled Alot to pick from the bar. Always a wonderful salad bar too.

I love this place. The food is really good but the owner and workers are the best part of this place. I had a medical emergency while there the owner and the waitress's went above and beyond helping me and getting me help. They took very good care of me. I am thankful for the help I was given by the owner and the waitress's. I will forever be in their debt. If I hadn't got help so fast don't know if I would be here today. A very big Thank You to everyone.

I recently learned of M&J Country Buffet, so I decided to drive an hour to check it out. I was there at noon on a Thursday. There were numerous others eating and a couple commented it was their first time there also. First look at the size of the buffet, it seemed a bit small, but there are plenty of options as most steam table containers were half-size, not full-size, allowing double the amount of options in the same space. Entrees I remember were fried chicken, meatloaf, pork chops,chicken wings, country fried steak and gravy and mac and cheese, but I know I am forgetting something. Sides included greens, yams, mashed potatoes, gravies, corn, beans and others. There was a nice salad selection, all which appeared homemade. Desserts included peach cobbler, pineapple cobbler, soft serve ice cream, and sliced fruits. All foods I had were very good and hot. With smaller steam table containers, they needed to be refilled more frequently resulting in fresher foods. The staff kept the buffet fully supplied at all times. The price of the buffet was $13 including tax. Also included in the price was ice tea, coffee and water, but soft drinks are extra. I will be back.

Probably the best food option in the town. I ate here three times and enjoyed every bite. I’m just sad I’m leaving town before Hot Wing buffet Thursday! Loved the baked chicken the best, fried chicken also good but could use a little more spices in the breading. Meatloaf was dry and a bit burnt, but the flavor was good. The collard greens were the best vegetable hands down. Super nice staff and oh that sweet tea was so good I’ve now got diabetes. I won’t be back in the area for 3 years but I guarantee I’ll stop in!

Country buffet that I wasn't hungry for, but really wanted to try their fried chicken. Collards tasted vegetarian.
