First time trying this place and was pleasantly surprised, food was very good and very different, and had a spice in the rice both me and the wife could not figure out but it was tasty :-) Had the chicken and lamb and both was very soft and cooked to perfection, and a big shout out to the awesome waitress! Only sort of bad thing was we were right under a speaker and either the speaker was going out or the radio station/feed had lots of static. But if your talking its not that big of a deal. Can't wait to go back for 2nds :-)
I came for lunch on a clear Monday. I was looking for a fresh Greek restaurant because, well, I enjoy processed American Mediterranean. LuLu Kabab is NOT that! I was welcomed to this quaint sequestered brick bistro by brass handle and Oakwood doors, leveled dressed tables, a kind youthful serviceman, and mild happy gibberish coming from consumer chewing mouths; I knew I was somewhere special. I could hear music renditions of oldies but goodies playing over speaker and was handed a simple easy-to-read menu. I ordered the hummus appetizer, lamb gyro and chicken gyro sandwich. Authentically amazing. One bite of the lamb and a double blink with bulging eyes followed! The chicken breast tasted like chicken breast! It….was….good! The sandwiches were both accompanied by, a mediocre over dressed salad, but I did I forget to mention the chicken and the lamb?!? It was good. I drank water from a straw in a Coca Cola style cup with lemon, but did I forget to tell you about the chicken and the lamb?!?!? It was….. good! If you love processed Mediterranean, LuLu Kabab may not be for you. But, if your buds desire kind service, authentic food, and a place to call yours; the brass handle and Oakwood doors will greet you! Enjoy!
I ordered door dash from here. I ordered a gyro and a lamb plate and a hummus appetizer. I did not receive the gyro. I got a box with gyro meat and a salad in it. I also did not receive my hummus. On the lamb plate there was absolutely zero flavor and they gave me one small pita that was split in half. The "feta" salads that came with the meals had no dressing on them and had about 2 crumbs of feta on them. Overall the entire meal was terrible.
My first experience at this restaurant and definitely will not be my last. The restaurant is clean and it is an open concept where you can see the chefs preparing your meal. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. I ordered the falafels for appetizers which I loved. It had a nice creamy dipping sauce. Hot sauce is available on request. I also ordered the chicken kabob plate and a beef gyro. The chicken kabob plate was excellent. The meat was so tasty with great seasoning and the meat was tender and just perfect. With the plate came rice, hummus and salad. The gyro was very much enjoyed and came with seasoned fries. You have the option of picking your sides. Pita bread is also included. Great food presentation, food was just at the perfect temperature. For dessert I tried the baklava which was a hit!! So if you love baklava and have a sweet tooth, it is a must try. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!! REVIEW UPDATE: 6/3/2019: Been really disappointed with this restaurant for a while. The quality of the food has decreased and is not as flavorful as it used to be. The rice is usually well flavored and I got something that literally tasted like boiled plain rice. All the items are not as tasty as it used to be. Not worth it for the price point anymore. Hope they bring back the original chef.
Love the chicken gyro and house hummus. Although if I pay for hummus as my meal which I have 2x and so does the rest of my table. I would like my own basket of pita since we’re all paying separate to have our own basket.
