I've already heard about this place but never got around to trying it out. I had been craving some good & slightly spicy "red beans and rice" & that's exactly what I ordered with extra sausages cut up. I really enjoyed it too. Very nice flavor & seasoned good. The sausages had a awesome taste which blended good with the red beans and rice. The staff was nice & friendly & had my order out in no time. This meal is really enough for two. I definitely will be back to get this again no doubt.
Lovely restaurant, family owned in Jackson, MS. Visiting relatives and a must stop for Cajun Food. They ran out of etoufee, but you know it is fresh. We were there for catfish night. Huge portions and delicious. Order with the cashier and take a seat
My husband and I were looking for someone nearby to eat after I had gotten my hair done, and this restaurant was in the plaza next door to my salon. When I say that the seafood gumbo is the best my husband and I have ever eaten. The spices used were perfectly blended. The gumbo included crawfish tails and shrimp. I've never had seafood gumbo where the shrimp was so flavorful. My husband ordered the catfish platter and I ordered the shrimp platter. We both had waffle fries and side salad with our platters. My husband says the catfish was good and so was my shrimp. I'll most definitely be stopping back in to take some seafood gumbo home with me. It was absolutely delicious!
Great food. Local family owned. All fresh and homemade
We pulled up and parked in the handicap parking in front of the doors of the restaurant. We’ve visited this restaurant several times (admittedly it’s been a while since the last visit). We had a very clear view of the door there was no sign indicating closing. I got out my vehicle into my wheelchair and rolled to the door only to find the doors locked and a sign indicating they were closed from 3 to 5…it was 2:35! I rolled back to my vehicle got out of my wheelchair back into my vehicle and called the restaurant. A woman answered and I asked why they just didn’t come to the door and tell us they were needing to close when they saw my wife bring my wheelchair around? She first said she didn’t see us. When I told her I know that she did she then said something came up and they had to close early…so which was it? And if “something come up” why make use come all the way to the door just to find the doors locked and a sign that wasn’t there when arrived. Either this place was discriminatory to us as Black or me as a wheelchair user. Either way I suggest you not patronize this establishment…we won’t and I’ll be suggesting to everyone I know to do the same. At the very least they are lazy so why would I want to eat their food?
