Lander City Park

The 4 stars is for the free campground at the city park. The park is a five star city park! Ball fields, tennis & volleyball courts, picnic pavilions and an excellent playground! The free camping area is very nice for a free city park campground. You park down past the ball fields next to the river. Several picnic tables and grills are in the area but there are no designated campsites, just find a spot and park. There are restrooms but no drinking water or showers, but it’s free! We had a nice overnight listening to the river.

This city park is wonderful and right next to the beautiful Popo Agie River. It's so beautiful and peaceful with wonderful green grass, baseball fields, kids large Playstation, and more with the stage for concerts and other things.

Drive up urban camping spot inside of idyllic city park with clean bathrooms, picnic tables, and enough level parking for +/- 50 vehicles (there were about 30 the night we stayed and everyone had plenty of space. There was a softball game on in the nearby field (about 100ft from the start of the parking area) providing excellent free entertainment but also bright lights and standard sporting event noise (they were done by 10pm). Can stay up to 3 days consecutively.

Absolutely fantastic! We are here on July 4th weekend, it's full of cars, campers, tents and a few motorhomes. Everyone is quiet, respectful and friendly. Parking is right alongside the Popo Agie river. There is shade available and a great park to walk through, awesome kids playground and on the riverside there are plenty of walking trails to explore. It's FREE and you can stay for 3 nights. Town is very walkable. Love it!

A wonderful city park on the Popo Agie river. Free camping for three days, clean and green, playgrounds for the children, bike paths and hiking trails: an ideal starting point to explore this nice city and the surrounding area. Thank you Lander!
