La Jaivita #1

I was in for a quick trip to Corpus Christi and on my way to town I was looking up seafood restaurants and came upon LA Jaivita #1. So we stopped to eat there being that I prefer to go to the local mom and pop restaurants. Well let me tell you I was not disappointed one bit. Service was great food was great and the drink was very good. I will definitely go back again. I loved it. Money well spent.

This was our first time and we enjoyed it. The service was good, food didn’t take long to arrived and portions are a good size. They welcome you with some good tortilla chips and salsa. For appetizer we ordered ceviche and a sopa de mariscos then we had number 20 and substituted the fried oysters for more fish. Restrooms were clean.

From outta town, the 956 so I definitely know good food, and this food is great. Ate seafood of course, the combination plate a good mix at an excellent price. Fish fried to perfection, fries golden brown & crunchy, crab salad tasty as well. The fish tacos were also a 9/10 just missing a hotter salsa, but the grilled planks were moist and flavorful. No refills on soda but not to worry there's plenty to choose from. Do yourself a favor and grab a table.

Micheladas were very good. Dressed very nicely. 1st time seeing one dressed like that. Loved the chips and salsa. (Homemade chips) ceviche coulda used a tad more lemon juice (personal liking) however still delicious. The fish and shrimp plate was very good. Lightly battered. Staff was on point very attentive. Tables were cleaned promptly. Food came out pretty quick. Over all recommended.

We travel for work and look for good places to eat every time we’re in town. La Jaivita did not disappoint! Hubby had a cocktail that had a mix of shrimp, fish, octopus and crab I believe…looked delicious. I had fish tacos and those were so DELICIOUS! Highly recommend! :)
