Yadkin Valley Seafood Restaurant

We ordered to go order. Popcorn shrimp plate and combination popcorn shrimp and flounder. The popcorn shrimp was not cooked very well. The batter was not cooked crispy. Tasted like awful. All the batter was falling off the shrimp. It wasn’t good at all. The fries were cold and not cooked crispy. This was the second time I have gotten food that wasn’t good here. Would not recommend.

The food, service and prices are really good! The portions are more than most normal people can eat in one serving. I appreciate being able to have left overs for the next days lunch.

Even though there were reservations we still seemed like an aggravation for the staff. Waitress seemed extremely overwhelmed. Hush puppies were GREAT, the rest of the food was okay.

Updated 10/5/24. Potatoes were not even hot (or warm) enough to melt the butter. They were also very firm in the middle and hot to touch on the outside. Weird.....all I can figure is maybe they microwave them to cook, but didn't cook them long enough. But the butter just sat there on top of the potato. My flounder was not that great either. (The pic below was NOT from this visit) We ate inside this time.

Great location with access from both North and Southbound US 601 (South State Street ). Open nights Tuesday through Sunday and open for lunch on Sundays, Closed on Mondays. Only seafood restaurant on US 421 between Winston - Salem and North Wilkesboro. They feature Daily specials or order from the menu which has boiled, broiled or fried sea food. I recommend either the fried salt and pepper catfish, fried popcorn shrimp or the ribeye steak.
