Vera's Seafood

We was passing through and looked up a place to eat some seafood and we also seen the sign on the interstate. The greeter and waitress was great our 1st time there. The food was excellent and we even left a souvenir dollar signed with our names on the wall. We can't wait to come back again..

Haven't been here for a while... But when we want seafood this is one we go to when in the area.. great place, quiet.the crab meat au gratin is the best !!! Oysters are a boom.. soft shell crab and pasta no words for it. ??? So hopefully y'all will enjoy it too!! Didn't forget about the onion rings fresh & home made...

This is a great little place not too far off of I-12. It’s been around for quite a while and serves up hearty servings of excellent food. The atmosphere is “cajun” and very welcoming. Don’t be fooled by the store front entrance, but step inside and give it a try. The prices are superb for the portions. The food is spectacular. You will not be disappointed. It’s a true local gem!!

Went to Vera's because I was told the food was really good, so we decided to give it a try. My catfish sandwich was the only decent item that came to the table. Four others at the table had seafood gumbo bowls that came out to the table and it was bitter and tasted old, none of us could eat it. Then the shrimp poboy that came out to the table was horribly served, the bread was so hard, you couldn't even take a bite, the bread was hard as a brick. Tried to eat the shrimp off the poboy bread with a fork and the shrimp were mushy. They were very shrimpy and decided not to try anymore of it. The texture and flavor was definitely off. I was truly disappointed for everyone else at the table. We were a party of 7. The fries weren't even good. It was a cute restaurant set up, and the waitress was pleasant. We explained to the server the issues we had and I understand it was not her fault, but the kitchen staff needs to do better if they plan to stay open. I couldn't give the food a half a star thus the one star on the food. I was disappointed to have such bad seafood in Louisiana.

The Service was great. The food was delicious. We loved the prices. We ate 2 entrees and appetizer for about 55.00 Total
