The Stables Café, Heaton Park

One of my favourite little spots! Today I popped in for some lunch with my little boy, and we were greeted by a very upbeat and friendly Jack who went out of his way to support me whilst my little boy napped and we got settled. Something I felt really grateful for, especially whilst Jack seemed to be the only member of staff there in that moment. The food was delicious, and the chai latte was fab as usual! And the atmosphere… super chilled and extra cosy with the extra heaters! Thank you Jack for such a friendly and heart felt welcome! And all whilst cleaning tables and serving customers with a smile! It goes along way! X

Where do I begin. The customer service is excellent and can not be faulted. Staff are welcoming and very friendly. However, that's where the good review stops. Everything is extremely over priced and the quality is poor. Today I purchased a Lotus Biscof Hot Chocolate for £6.05 and at first I was looking forward to drinking it. The presentation looked promising but from then on the drink itself was just one soggy mess. The drink itself tasted more like hot water than hot chocolate and the biscuits quickly disolved into one soggy mess inside the cup. At times I was drinking more crumbs than drink. The only good part of the drink itself that added any actual taste was the whipped cream. Overall very disappointed.

Popped in last week by happy accident. Pleasant enough find but what really made it was the guy who served us (Jack? I think); he couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and efficient and, unlike staff in a lot of places these days, seemed to actually enjoy his job and make customers happy

If I could give this zero, I would. I walked in and there was rubbish all over the floor, every table had rubbish on, I had to clean up the table myself. My friends £5 meal came with only three goujons. I ordered eggs and soldiers and my egg wasn’t even runny. My other friend bought a ‘jumbo’ sausage for £7.50, it was NOT in fact jumbo. They must have other ideas on what ‘jumbo’ really is. Freezer food at best. Floors were dirty with food all over them. Not happy…

Really low quality, hard, cold, and dry food. I got the beef burger and it’s the worst burger I’ve ever eaten in my 33 years on this planet. It ruined my day. Charging around £10 for a burger that looks like it was frozen for a decade then cooked for an hour, then left out to dry for a week before being placed into a hard chewy bread bun that a duck would struggle to eat, is day light robbery. I will never eat there ever again and I suggest you don’t either. The waiting staff were nice and polite but you could tell they weren’t being treated well by management. I will be writing to Heaton park management to have them strongly consider who they’re giving a food monopoly to in the park.
