It's not that good an experience, to be honest. The lad who was waiting spent more time walking around. We ordered our food from the waitresses and our drinks. The plates are small dining, so you don't really get a lot g food for the money charged. The lad waiting asked if we wanted the dessert menu, and we said yes. He went off and we didn't see him again, we had to ask the waitress. One of our desserts came to the table still frozen, so we complained and they took it away and replaced it. Guess what that was frozen too, with a scoop of ice cream on the top. So you can't tell me when someone is cutting a cake they can't tell its still frozen, I couldn't even get a spoon in it. Will I go back, not a chance. New year's eve meal, a bit if a let down.
This is the third Real Greek restaurant I have visited and every time I am impressed with the quality of the food. Despite being very busy, our food was served quickly and was delicious. We didn't choose from the set menus, instead choosing 3 dishes each though probably should have chosen 4 as recommended by our waitress as definitely would have got eaten! Favourites were: the flat bread, crispy but soft; vine leaves which were perfect and the greek salad which was very generously served with huge chunks of feta and herby green olives. In conclusion, a busy and popular restaurant so it is best to book in advance.
A solid 4 stars for our visit today, just before Christmas 2023. We had four meals from the lunch menu, which is served Monday to Friday 12 noon until five. Two courses for £9.95. We spent just over £60 for four meals & drinks. The restaurant is located central to the Quays in Gloucester docks in the building that was occupied by Carluccios. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas. We were quickly shown to our table, a booth next to the window. The service was prompt by a pleasant and helpful waiter. We ordered four meals from the lunch menu, which all arrived together and were well presented. The food was good, nicely cooked and very tasty. The Greek bread was good as were the accompanying sauces. The Greek salad of tomatoes, cucumbers and feta cheese with onion was also very good; certainly very plentiful. It wasn't bad value for money. The restaurant was clean, no tables littered with 'dead' plates and cutlery. Our first time here. It was my partners birthday, and we fancied somewhere different to eat after a wander around Gloucester Quays. Friendly waitress, great food! We loved how it was served on a 4-tier stand! They have gluten-free and vegetarian options. Individual clean toilets. It was a Thursday afternoon, so it was quiet. The waitress lit a tea light as they didn't have any birthday candles, which was lovely of her.
Love coming here. I’ve been to other Real Greek locations and they aren’t as nice as this one. The food is really good and the service is top class. Our waitress was Chloe and she was super, checked on us, made sure we had no allergies, brought everything we needed and was really polite and helpful. Makes such a difference when you have excellent service. Thank you Chloe!!
