Annie did an amazing job on the cakes we ordered for our son's first birthday. Our son got to enjoy his first cake experience, which he loved. Our families were impressed with the quality, flavor, and consistency of the cakes provided to us. If you ever find yourself in the Pequot Lakes area, do yourself a favor and stop in. There are many delicious offerings to be had at Sweet Life Bakery! Thank you, Annie!

It was my Moms 80th Birthday and i did not want a big box store pan cake so a friend of mine said check out Sweet Life so i called. At 1st she said no that she was swamped with Weddings and i said it was for my moms 80th and i almost hung up. The incredibly wonderful women on the phone said oh ok,as long its not a Carrot Cake,my heart almost sank again. Yes it has to be a Carrot Caje its her most favorite in the world,again the amazing women on the phone said YES. Wow it wad so beautiful as it was the nicest cake ive ever seen! My Mom loved it and it fed 27 people way cool. Highly recommend the bakery

We went in for a cake tasting for our wedding and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were given an estimate by the bakery manager and then a follow-up email from the owner which almost doubled the original estimate. I didn't worry about it too much. I emailed the owner back asking for an adjustment to get it closer to our budget since our wedding buffet had chef's choice dessert. She did not send us a new quote. She did not make suggestions to meet our budget. She simply stated "We do not mix our product with other vendors. We can make your cake if the rest of the sweets are ice cream or prepackaged candy." And followed up with, "It’s been my policy since we open. Good luck with your wedding." I do not agree with the policy, especially when the venue makes special exceptions to allow outside dessert to enter their establishment for a wedding as well as the fact that anyone can purchase a cake and bring it to an event where the bakery has no knowledge of other edibles present. It was unfortunate we couldn’t work it out.

If I could provide less than one star for this establishment, I would. The staff/new owner was so incredibly rude and unprofessional that it seriously was saddening to see a local business treat customers the way we treated. We arrived to pick up cupcakes for a wedding on 8/22 to find out that the new owner that had taken over the business did not have the cupcakes ready and claimed she did not know anything about the wedding. After going back and forth, where she claimed she didn't even know who Dani was (the original owner) and explaining that we had several email confirmarions regarding the order, even the final confirmation with the final guest numbers, we were still given so much attitude, as if it were our fault. She told us she already had three wedding to do and it basically was not her issue. There was no concern really for the situation because she did not feel it was important. Finally, after explaining we were out of town and the wedding was in a few hours, she instructed her assistant to take out some frozen cupcakes and frost them. The order was for 30 assorted specialty cupcakes and we recieved chocolate and vanilla with a few peral sprinkles, which she felt originally was worth the same as the custom cupcakes and specialty flavors. Eventually, we did get a lower price due to the fact the cupcakes were no where near the quality of a $2.50 a piece cupcake. My best advice, sadly, if you are trying to stay local..find another shop. The new owner, we did not get her name even, was rude and extremely unprofessional. Wasn't wearing gloves while handling her customers sandwiches coming out of the oven and had no general care about her quality of customer service. Had great service from Dani and even helped do a tasting while the whole quarantine was taking place by sending cupcakes out. Sad to see a business take that large of a turn when switching owners. A sumple apology or concern about the wedding they screwed up on would have been nice instead of her panicking over getting a sandwich to another vendor in the building.

We had a wonderful experience with Sweet Life Bakery, where we ordered our wedding cake and cupcakes! From the tasting, which allowed us to sample a number of baked goods in addition to cakes, to the booking, consultation and delivery, they were easy to work with and the cake and cupcakes we ordered were SO DELICIOUS! Highly recommend to anyone getting married in northern Minnesota!
