Stay inn suite

this place was a joke. what they advertised on line thru booking.com (not recommend this service) and what they charged me was outrageous. the price per room went from $55 to $70 per night. the picture of the room was totally misleading. there were coach roaches and bugs. the floor was slippery. you could flood the bathroom with water after taking a shower. there were locked gates. homeless people all of the streets. dangerous part of the hood. could not sleep because of the next door guest fighting all night long.

This is the sketchiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We needed a place to stay on our road trip down to SoCal and stayed here based off of the generally good reviews. I don’t recommend it to anyone. The surrounding area feels unsafe and the hotel is outdated and bare, from the outside and inside. The sheets appeared clean and I didn’t find any bugs, but the floor and tub were dirty and you could tell the building was old and crumbling but they just painted over it. There is only one thin sheet on the bed and a blanket in the closet, but we didn’t use that because it was covered in hair and didn’t trust that it was clean, so we froze all night instead. The door had a small gap between it and the frame and the lock wasn’t very secure. The towels smelled unpleasant. There are odd rules such as no visitors after 8 PM and a $5 charge if you leave your key in your room at checkout - it did seem like this place is used as a halfway house for some, like another poster mentioned. I was very excited to get out of there early in the morning. The only positive was that our check-in lady was nice and bilingual (check-out not so much) and they have a gated lot. Please do yourself the favor and do not stay here.

If I am writing this review is to warn people about what to expect if you reserve a room in this place. The lady in the front desk was really nice and found a non smoking room for me. We went to three different rooms and even though they were non-smoking there was still a very strong cigarette smell. It gave me a headache. The location is not the best, and I think I did not feel safe for this reason. They have a gate in the parking lot which helps a little. In general, I did not spend a good night. I would not reserve again. The rooms seemed very clean, but there was only one blanket.

The rooms are nice, clean.. smell clean as well. The staff is lovely. I like that they close the parking lot gate at night. There's a restaurant right downstairs, a gas station and chicken place across the street. A very short walk to the waterfront, and a library across from here. Also a Starbucks and bank within walking distance. I would stay here again.

For the price it was okay, it could have been better. The room was very clean, but our TV didn't work, and there wasn't a nice thick blanket on the bed, and our shower didn't drain quickly. I think they could use a little bit more of a contemporary update.
