Russell Preno’s Restaurant

Had an amazing meal at this deservedly popular restaurant. I recommend reservations, but was promptly seated in the bar area. Had the fried polenta and sausage appetizer and the sole over spinach. I'm in town on travel and will definitely return next time I'm in Scranton. If you find this review helpful please help me by giving it a thumbs up.

After traveling over an hour to dine here for the first time with 4 other friends and had a long, somewhat enjoyable dinner that ended in 2 separate parties verbally attacking my table with homophobic slurs. As we sat at our table minding our business and asking the parties to leave us alone, the parties then told us to get our check & leave “or else we’re going to drag you three queens out of here”. The staff stood on standby and did nothing with the two parties and quickly gave us our check and boxes. One of the waitresses followed us out to apologize for the other parties as they continued their banter but again, the staff never intervened with the other parties. This establishment was highly recommended by a friend to dine here and unfortunately resulted in a horrible first time experience where I will never return.

This place is one of my favorite authentic places to eat . All the food is fresh and cooked to perfection . The service was awesome as well . Whether it’s a small intimate or a larger gathering Russel’s staff will take care of you .

Absolutely appalled!!! As if a 3.5 hour dinner service wasn’t bad enough… we traveled an hour in the recommendation of a friend to have dinner here and were insulted and verbally accosted at the dinner table by drunk patrons at a neighboring table. If the verbal abuse wasn’t enough still the waitresses sat back and allowed the offending table to threaten physical violence and offer to go out to the parking lot. As we exited the building a waitress approached us in the parking lot after watching what happened to apologize yet no action was taken against the table making drunken homophobic slurs.

Staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The menu has a large selection and the food is delicious. Perfect for an intimate dinner or family dinner.
