I love Popeyes and the food is always good, but this location really struggles with service and order accuracy. On our first visit, my mom was told there would be a 10 minute wait for tenders, so she ordered a sandwich instead. The sandwich was supposed to be plain but came home with mayonnaise, and the overall order was completely wrong. We waited over 20 minutes and ended up with lots of bone in chicken, six coleslaws, one mashed potatoes, and no fries even though we were told extra fries were added. The employee was very apologetic about the wait, and gave extra food and a free soda, which we appreciated, but it was not what we wanted or ordered. Had we known the wait would be that long, we would have just waited for the tenders from the start. We went back another time and the order was 100 percent correct and the food was delicious, but the wait was still much longer than other fast food restaurants in the area. I love Popeyes, but this location really needs improvement in speed and order accuracy. The food is good, but the service needs work.
I'm not sure how you can get an order with only three items incorrect. Seems you have to work hard or simply just don't care. This is after being asked to repeat the order at the drive-thru at least four times. Again, three items. Additionally, I'm not sure why the fish sandwich this year is so bad. Not sure if this is a location thing or an overall reduction in quality. Lastly, I see this location makes a habit of replying to reviews both good and bad. Suggestion, take that time and energy and put it back into the quality of product that you're delivering.
Here again on Thanksgiving Day. Not many restaurants are opened. I’m glad this Popeyes is opened. The servers are very efficient. We just got a chicken sandwich for 4.99. Bread is good. Chicken is crispy and fresh. But then the size has shrunk. I hope the sandwich is not that small. I was a bit nervous after seeing the negative comments. I found the place is very clean even the washroom is freshly scrubbed. The chicken sandwich is very crispy and tasty. You can hear the crunch when you bite into it. Juicy too. The popcorn shrimp is inexpensive and plenty. A bit spicy to a lot of people’s liking. We are just driving through. We might visit this restaurant again on our way back.
We stopped at Popeyes for the famous chicken sandwiches. They had the spicy one available, so we went with that. I was expecting the heat to be in the breading, but it was just a spicy mayo on the regular sandwich, which was a bit disappointing — and it really wasn’t that spicy. The service was quick, and the drive-thru worker was friendly, which made the stop pleasant. It’s a little pricey, but honestly, what isn’t these days? Overall, not bad — but next time I’ll probably just stick to what I know is good. Now I get why they call it the classic.
I wish the Scranton location was better. Chronically sub-par food, order accuracy and wait times. Our experiences picking up at the restaurant were the same as delivery. Had a good meal early on - and usually have great experiences out of town - but I'm just left disappointed when I have the itch to try again.
