Riverside Grocery

This place used to be a nice little grocery store. Now it seems like they have changed it into a glorified mini mart. The new owners have done a disservice to the people of Jefferson.

I recently visited Riverside grocery and had a disappointing experience with their customer service. The staff seemed uninterested in helping customers, and I struggled to get any assistance with my inquiries. Moreover, what made matters worse was the absence of restrooms for customers. It's quite inconvenient, especially during a shopping trip. Despite the wide range of products available, the lack of basic amenities and poor customer service left me with a negative impression of the store. I hope they can improve these aspects in the future to enhance the overall shopping experience for their customers.

The quintessential grocery store for your small town, one gas station, one stop light, one tavern, yet a minimum of 5 different churches for y'all who are into that sorta of brevity, kinda town. Under new ownership since the pandemic I'm assuming. I've had pleasant exchanges with the cashiers, and on par customer service. Those things aren't an issue. Their inventory is though. I haven't gone into this location and not observed the shelves to be beyond sparse or bare. It resembles the way the shelves would look after a natural disaster or a shipping crisis. 3/4 of the store has no product in in. Barely any inventory. It's the only grocery store in town within a 10-5 mile radius.

This sign shows how the business owner feels about the community. Shame on you. Your parking lot WILL NEVER BE FULL! To be honest, don't you think it would be a smarter decision to allow floaters? Being them INTO your business to spend money? Sell inflatables and you'll make a killing! Shame shame shame.

The daytime Manager at this Thriftway in Jefferson only wears a face shield and NO face mask and lets people come in without face masks consistently. When my husband asked her why she does not feel the need to enforce the mask mandate she said, "there is a sign, people can follow it or not". She then proceeded to walk away from him and ignore him when he asked her more questions about this. She continued to display extremely unprofessional behavior and we will no longer be shopping at this store, which is sad considering that we gave them A LOT of business. We enjoy shopping at small stores in town but with the attitude of the management staff at this store we will not be going back.
