The food is so good. A good selection on the buffet.
I have eaten at this restaurant quite often, and the food on the buffet is very fresh and not dried out except when they had fried fish, usually on the dinner buffet. The fish was rubbery, with a strange taste to it. The buffet offers a great salad bar and desert bar to complement the hot bar. There is also an ice cream machine offering the usual flavors of vanilla, chocolate, or a combination of the two. The waiters and waitresses have always been very nice, and the service is top-notch! The restaurant doesn't offer much of an atmosphere, but they do have two televisions, usually one for the kids and one for the adults. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant due to the selection of food they offer. I would, however, like to see them offer more dishes involving seafood, in particular crab meat and shrimp. They do offer one dish that involves crab, and that is their stuffed crab, and it has always been very tasty! So the next time you are in Pikeville, Kentucky, stop in and enjoy! I know I will!
I Paid over 50.00 for carry out lunch Buffet and the Chicken was hard and dried out. I have never ate hard Chicken before I wasted $50.00 for the whole family for no reason. I will not be going to this Peking no more I will be traveling to The one on North Mayo trail unless Thier food ain't hard and dried out.
*EDIT* I ended up with food poisoning. Projectile vomiting and diarrhea. Fever spiked at 102 several times. For 3 days , I thought I was dying. These 5 star reviews are either paid reviews or from people that have never had good Chinese food. It was gross...the lo-main noodles tasted like fish. Crab Ragoons had a sour flavor. The honey chicken was chewy... The sauce on the General Chicken was burnt. I found a bone in the little bit of General Chicken I did eat. I have never eaten so little at a Chinese buffet. ???? Let's not even discuss the old woman w a mullet and pink furry sweat pants, or the old man that kept staring at me. My advice? Never eat Asian food in an Eastern Kentucky coal town.
3 adults just under $50. Great tasting food, decent music, polite staff, good dessert choices. If I were to change one thing, I would remove the television sets.
