Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue & Catering - South Tulsa

This was our first time trying this bbq place and unfortunately, we were disappointed. I thought that they were a little pricier than other bbq places but the main thing is, their food was just not that good. The catfish was horrible! Catfish is not square and it is supposed to be flaky. This catfish was very questionable, square and dry. Definitely just frozen from a bag. It looked more like chicken that had been left sitting under a heat lamp. We ordered bologna and sausage and were given 4 tiny triangle pieces of bologna along with a piece of cut up sausage that was very dry. It was a disappointment that we were given so little bologna since the sausage wasn’t good and left uneaten. I will say that the pulled chicken sandwich was really good and that was the reason for my 2 stars. The smokey flavor of the chicken was delicious. I really had higher expectations for Oklahoma Joes BBQ.

This place was amazing. The portion sizes were huge, could easily be 2-3 meals. The bbq sauce was phenomenal. We both got ribs and they were so delicious and their sides were great! We got the baked beans, mac and cheese, and sweet potato fries. Definitely plan to be back!

I came in for lunch and had the burnt ends sandwich combo with beans, cherry bread pudding and a spare rib. The rib was tender, well flavored and a generous size. The burnt ends had a good flavor but looked like more like chunks of brisket, about 50/50 were tough/tender. The bread pudding was very good, moist and flavorful, the only thing I didn't like was the gritty undissolved sugar in the sauce. And I don't know if the beans are the best in the world but they are definitely some of the best I've ever had, looked like a 3 bean mix with loads of flavor, meat bits and green veg.

When in town I enjoy getting me some Oklahoma Joe BBQ! This is my first visit to this location. We usually stop at the Broken Arrow location. This location goes to the top of my list for BBQ. 5????????! Excellent service from the counter to the manager. Food was served HOT and fresh. Large portions. And delicious. We had meat dinners and sandwiches. If you are needing BBQ supplies you need to stop in and grab some wood chips, grills, smokers, sauce and so much more.

Dave, Isabella and all the crew did an amazing job catering and hosting our Myers-Duren Harley Davidson group and our annual dinner. The food was amazing and the service was even better. If you need to host a party they have the space and the staff to make your event a great one.
