Leo's Lounge & Mexico City's Famous Street Tacos

My husband found this place yesterday and they have fry bread tacos, so of course I said YESSSSS let’s gooooooooo! Well that was the high light, they do have Indian tacos on the menu. I can say for 100% certainty that the one on my plate last night was at minimum days old and to be quite frank I’d be more accurate at a week old!!! I tried cutting into the taco from multiple angles thinking it was just hard… NOPE. Even a steak knife would not have helped. Which was too bad, the steak on top was actually decent, but the stinker was the fact that the meat was mostly cold. My husband’s Texan tacos looked good and he said it was good, thankful for 1 win. They do not have drink menus and unless you know exactly what goes in your drink the bartender from last night seemed absolutely clueless, and while I could have ordered any drink and advised what goes in it. I shouldn’t have too. The margaritas were just ok, but I wouldn’t get them again. The restaurant is clean and appealing. I hope you guys get it together!

All the food was excellent. Had the steak dip with chips for an appetizer that was great. Only critique is the tabouli had too much liquid. Steak had a good flavor and no need for sauce, had a little char if you like that. The Mediterranean platter would normally have pita but I chose extra veggies. Service was excellent. Check them out! They barely opened when Covid hit which hurt them and they need promoted! Wonderful people!

Good steak and very flavorful sautéed mushrooms. The potato skins were a great add-on for only a $1 more. Olivia was our waitress and did a great job.

A Groupon promo led me to try Famous Steakhouse but I assure you that I will be back. In addition to steaks, they also offer trusted choices like chicken fried steak, fish, and even pork chops. My favorite was the cabbage roll, which had a flavorful mix of spices woven into the tomato sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection with the deliciousness that only comes from a quick searing over an open flame. The arugula salad, which I was informed also contained fresh spinach, could have used a little more arugula to bring out the natural spicy flavor of that green. Service was prompt and attentive from Shi who had a quick witted sense of humor that kept me smiling.

We were blessed with an anniversary dinner from a very good friend. We went to the Famous Steakhouse at 89th and Memorial shopping center next to the Big Biscuit. Friends I highly recommend you go there and visit Sam. This place is a hidden gem in Tulsa. We started off with the sampler that consisted of Hummus, Taubouli and veggies. Then followed with some great dinner salads. The main course for us consisted of a KC Strip with steak fries and grilled onions for me (a Tulsa favorite) and Grilled Shrimp with mixed veggies for Michele. We then finished things off with New York Cheesecake with strawberry sauce and Chocolate Mousse cake. This dinner was excellent. very tasty, grilled to perfection and fulfilled the tastebuds. We then took a stroll along River Parks in Jenks and enjoyed the sunset along the Arkansas River. We narrowly missed a golf ball that landed not more than 10 feet from us that escaped the nets at the Flying Tee. This was an amazing anniversary and definitely one of the best yet.
