I had an item to pick up in Los Gatos, and since it was a long drive, I decided to try a local restaurant, Nonno’s Italian. To get there, I had to drive up into the hills after exiting Highway 17. As I was driving, I started to think I might be on the wrong path because the route didn’t seem like it would lead to a restaurant. However, after a few minutes, I arrived at Nonno’s. Initially, I planned to try just a slice of pizza, as I had seen in a Google Map review, but I found out they only sell whole pizzas. My favorite pizza is Pepperoni with Pineapple, but I asked for their recommendation, and they suggested the Classico Pizza. One of the main reasons I chose Nonno’s was because of their old-fashioned firewood pizza oven. It seemed quite labor-intensive, as someone had to constantly tend to it, but I appreciated the authenticity. The pizza was well-cooked, though the bottom cornmeal crust was crunchier than I usually prefer (but it was still fine). They also had a variety of beer taps. At first, I thought they might have been decorative since there weren’t many people there. The backyard had a natural vibe, though it was slightly marred by an unpleasant smell coming from a trash bin nearby. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the fresh air.
We got stuck in traffic on hwy 17 on the way to Santa Cruz for lunch, and got so hungry we decided to stop at Nonno’s. Great decision! Their pizza was delicious and their outdoor courtyard was perfect for the warm day. Great food, friendly service, small town feel, 10/10 would go back.
Eclectic Little gym tucked away in the hills. Nothing happens real fast here you've got to accept that. Order the food inside there's plenty of seating outside plenty of beers on draft just between the two locations it spreads the service pretty thin. Great people
Ok pizza, cute place, lovely outdoor seating. It's located a couple of minutes off of the busy hwy 17.
So the pizza was decent however the calzones we're ok. Just a bunch of veggies and very little cheese in it. Overpriced, website says 1 price and when we got there the prices we're different. Overall experience was just ok. Don't think we'll be going back. ???? paid over $100 for 2 calzones 1 small pizza and 1 large pizza. ????????????
