New London Family Diner

Exactly what a family diner should be. Clean, friendly, quick. Service was excellent, lots of coffee refills. Breakfast was excellent and very fast. Will come again.

This place used to be so good, now it's really went down hill. Some.of.the staff are really very rude . They're short staffed , so they're all running around like chickens with their heads cut off . Went to ask about placing a to go order from the girl at the register , she said let me check and disappeared for 5 minutes came back to the register and I asked her again can place a to go order , she yes but I have to take these menus first . Well , that made me mad , I was there first , and then she went and told our waitress , who I couldn't get her attention in the first place . How rude !!!!! If she can take to go orders then why did I have to wait for our waitress to come to our table ? Just rude !!! and unprofessional . Don't go here !!!! I will say our waitress was polite and got our order right , but it really did not taste good . The bacon tastes awful , and the American fries too. Yuck !!!! Couldn't eat either one . What happened to serving real maple syrup ? IDK , what their syrup is , but it is watered down whatever it is . I won't be coming back here .

Have always enjoyed the waffles with strawberries at Family Diner. It has been our way of treating ourselves to a dessert that we didn't want to make for ourselves. This time the experience has soured my appetite to go back. The strawberries were not very presentable, may have been frozen instead of fresh. They in the past were always reddish, now they almost looked grayish. No whipping cream was put on the serving as in the past and when order was taken I asked for extra strawberries, of which I expected to pay extra for. When the dish was brought out I was told that they didn't give extra strawberries because they didn't know how much was meant by extra. And the price has jumped immensely and the quality of the waffle has decreased. Needless to say I won't be back for waffles & strawberries.

New to the area and decided to stop by because it's next door to Walmart. The hostess was not at the counter at any point during our visit. We were standing at the front and she came by and said to sit anywhere. The waitress was a nice gal with long hair with a braid. We all got basic stuff. Everything was okay, standard diner food. I was able to add jalapeños and bacon to a stuffed omelet. Our entrees were $11 each and the kids menu was $5. When it was time to pay we were left standing around for the hostess to come back. Even at that point she didn't greet us, or thank us at all. Which is really why I'm only giving 4 stars because it wasn't hospitable at all for being a small town diner.

Lots of room for any size party. Delicious food. Plenty of waitress always asking if you need anything. Cash is preferred. Looks like there is a full bar as well. Bathroom was clean. I think you could get a wheelchair in and around. Easy on and off of the highway. By Walmart.
