Jake's Diner on State Street

The Saint Patrick’s Day homemade corned beef was unbelievable! In fact, it was so good, I came back the next day and got the California Omelette, which was also outstanding! Jake & Nicole are very hospitable and very friendly. I was trying to figure out how many diners I’ve been to across America (not sure, but easily 75+) and Jake’s State Street Diner is easily one of the best. Maybe even the very best.

I just moved in New London about a week ago. We went to jakes diner. The food was amazing. The service was great. I had the eggs, home fries and the homemade ham it was so good. I highly recommend it. Jakes diner that's the place to go when you are visioning New London. Connecticut

We were early for the ferry back to Long Island and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite. As soon as I opened the door i said this is my kind of place. Maybe 8 tables and a counter, just like an old diner should be. Opted for the Western omelette , wife got the Grilled Cheese, both were great. Homey atmosphere that is now lacking in so many cookie cutter restaurants these days. Sure to go back on our next trip to Conn. try it you won"t be disappointed

Very good customer care. I came here from Atlanta for Mother’s Day. I saw the place online because of pancakes. The owner greeted me with warmth and said come on I got you. Didn’t know they closed at 1 pm on Sundays. A small glitch on the website for that day said later. Come to find out they know my sister and husband and well as her business; Kenya’s Massage Studio in Old Saybrook.

Nice gem for a decent meal at a reasonable price. It’s nothing fancy, but I was able to get an omelette with home fries and toast for $8.99. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating. If you’re not looking for anything fancy and just want a decent bite to eat with good prices, this restaurant will suit you well.
