Melton's App & Tap

Nice local pub for a change of pace. We stopped for lunch and really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. We had a classic Ruben and a Grilled Cheese sandwich with fries and pasta salad. Service was excellent, and for a few dollars more than the standard lunch places, a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Neighborhood pub with hearty food. I was a regular 20 years ago and it hasn't changed much. The menu is a bit smaller and the evening patrons have a little more gray hair. The young servers are a bit slow but polite and steady. The menu has all good choices, depending on your slant. They have hearty sandwiches and big salads. There are a few entrees as well. The chicken tenders are memorably good. This time, I had the chicken tarragon salad. The greens and mixins are fresh and the chicken is tender. It comes with these little cheese puffs that people rave about, but don't work with my allergens. They have waffle fries that are always hot and crisp. This is a solid choice as a family pub.

There is something on this menu that would delight everyone. You must try the Cheese Puff Basket. These little gems have their own place in the food pyramid. They are that good. Aaron Melton, has accumulated an extensive offering of brewed goodness on tap. The rotating taps are sure to satisfy anyone. A staple in the community and a trusted friend. Food used to be better. Last visit I received chicken fingers without breading. Just bland deep fried plain chicken on a plate. Server acted confused, and only refunded half of that specific items price. Despite not getting the correct item. I also don't enjoy dealing with 3-4 people at my table every visit. Who am I tipping?

Neighborhood institution. Growing up in that neighborhood, going to Melton's on a Friday night after a week of school, sports, and parents working was what you did. They have a lot of options, and everything there is delicious. My personal favorites are the black bean chicken and chili cheese nachos with waffle fries in place of chips (yes, you can substitute waffle fries for chips in nachos!). Their sandwiches are also great (Reuben, French dip, and brisket ??) as well as their pastas. specials are often also pretty tasty. Basically whatever you fancy, they've got something you'll enjoy. Servers are always polite and very professional in what they do. Great drink selection too. Atmosphere is a local neighborhood bar+grill. Not many frills, usually meh acoustics, but it's pretty homey.
