Lizzie's Diner

Absolutely delicious!! Lizzie's has a comfortable atmosphere and great portion sizes of breakfast favorites. Everything was so great! I chose the 1-1-1, with eggs, country ham, and home fries, which were round sliced potatos, so yummy! It also came with a biscuit and gravy, I mean, what more could a country girl ask for? My son had the Hashbrown Omelet, and it also came with a biscuit and gravy. He ate all of his and finished off my ham, lol. Oh my goodness, it was so good, y'all! We are excited we will have a place to go when we visit again! You have to visit while in Owensboro, KY. Everything, including the service, was spectacular!

I had the meatloaf special and I decided to get macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes as my sides. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've ever had. The meatloaf was also delicious but the macaroni and cheese was good, just not great. I'm not complaining though, the entire meal was delicious. The server was nice and polite. I'd definitely go there again to get something different and see what that's like.

The food was excellent, staff was kind and courteous. I had 3 eggs over easy and they were perfect. Although they only brought one slice of toast, there was no fear in asking for another slice. I will eat there again.

I stopped for lunch at 11:30 am on a Wednesday and the place was busy. Everything looked clean and in order. I was able to sit at a table and my server came right over. She was very pleasant and cheerful. She took my order of the Plate Lunch Special, Roast Beef Manhattan with Mashed potatoes & gravy, and mac & cheese. After a short wait, about 5 minutes, she brought my lunch. Everything looked really good. The sandwich was served open-faced with one slice of white bread, roast beef, mashed potatoes, all topped with beef gravy. It was served with a garlic/cheddar biscuit. The meat was tender and flavorful, I didn’t have to add salt or pepper, it was seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were creamy and not too stiff. The only thing I really didn’t care for was the mac & cheese. I thought that was lacking in flavor. The pasta was cooked well, and it had a fair amount of cheese sauce, it just could have used some seasoning. I was very happy with my meal, and I thought the service was wonderful. I will definitely stop by here again, the next time I’m in the area. UPDATE FROM 05/2023 I stopped for breakfast on a Wednesday at 8:30 am and there were only a few people in there. The server came right over, a very friendly and happy person, and took my order. I ordered the 2-2-2 plate, and it was two scrambled eggs, two strips of bacon and two biscuits with gravy, hashbrowns was also included. My breakfast came right out, and everything was very fresh and tasty. The only thing I didn’t care for was the gravy, it was not my type that I like. This is how everyone else likes it, I just happen to like Bob Evans the best, this was too pasty to me, but as I said, this is my issue. I have eaten here in the past and I will stop again when I am in town. It’s a great little diner that has very affordable food that tastes great.

This is a gem of a tiny small town diner. They have some specialty coffees though limited are very delicious. Breakfast was wonderful. Food was hot and the chocolate chess pie they make is super delicious!
