Wow! A welcome addition to the small town restaurant feel! The variety is authentic Maine Lobster! Yummy! I've included some photos of the food and the restaurant inside... I would recommend this to our Snowbirds as well as locals of Highlands County, it's well worth the drive to Lake Placid!
Ok, so im gonna break down the lazy lobster shanty from the time I entered until we left, because honestly theres too many 5 star reviews from, i expect, seniors. So here we go. -The building is small but quaint and. I loved the new england style decore (grew up 30 miles from Boston myself. -Candace, as a server your a rock star. There were only like 2 of yall and how u didn't go crazy running back and forth all evening is a miracle. - I suspect the kitchen is low on cook staff as is was servers. Reeeeally long wait times Not just for us, but for everyone around us as well. It was also obvious that they have a set amount of food per day. I say this because by 6:30pm they were out of scallops, baked potatoes, and flounder. Also people were discouraged because there were items on some menu's that they no longer made. - the lobster dip was pretty good, as well as the lobster bisque....tasty. - the wife ordered the shrimp and lobster. The lobster itself was pretty good. But she wished they would have deveined the shrimp (yuck). - I had 2 clusters of the crab legs. Ok....they were awful. I suspect they were boiled in pre butteted water, as they came out oily. Also, the crabs were over boiled to the point of falling apart and were mushy. Also, no crab shell bucket and one napkin???? The potato salad was great (loaded and the mayo was replaced with sour cream). - lastly, there is only ONE MULTI GENDER BATHROOM. I'm guessing this building was not designed for its current purpose. I couldn't get through the seniors to the bathroom to wash the oily crab remnants off of my hands, and basically drove home that way. Welp, that's my review in an overcooked crab shell.
Very good Maine-style seafood and lobster shack atmosphere. Casual but nice. We enjoyed our Maine lobsters, haddock dinner and snow crab clusters. Owner was an interesting and very friendly guy. My husband had a beer while we waited for the food and we enjoyed hearing how he ended up in Lake Placid. Hope they stay here. Nice to have another good food option. Would’ve liked to sit down to eat but couldn’t . Had to Take our food back home to my moms house but we were very pleased. It’s a bit pricey but good quality food.
This place is great! The food is amazing!! We had the clam chowder and warm lobster roll. It tasted just like eating in Boston! Our waitress Abigail was so nice. My daughter loved her. All around great experience, we will be back!
If your looking for great food, this is the place to go! Owners are from Maine and know their seafood! All homemade and delicious. Lobster Bisque soup is incredible. Owners are cooking and available to have a great conversation. This isn't your typical corporate fast food seafood. This is the best! Prices are very reasonable. Try it you'll love it!
