La Morenita

First time at the La Morenita in Ceres. Just as great as the Modesto restaurant. They have an outdoor covered patio which was nice. Everyone loved the dinner.

I think the place is nice the food is good I’ve been here a couple times. I will say to find a parking it is very small. I’ve never had this experience it was so weird. I went in with my bf he ordered a water and I got a sprite. The waiter with the mustache noticed my sprite was getting low so he gave me a refill on my soda, and my bf took a sip out of it which he always does. Then the waiter made a comment saying “that soda refill was hers.” To which my bf responded “ I just wanted a sip out of it.” I’ve never had someone vigilantly watch us or give us a problem over sharing a soda. The waiter also told my bf “alright we won’t tell anyone you took a sip out of her drink but seemed serious about it. Then the lady waiter refilled his water and the mustache waiter was watching to make sure my bf didn’t get a sprite. Apparently we had the soda police!!!! Then they charged us for a chip refill and we weren’t told ahead of time for this charge, makes me wonder if it was the soda police tryna charge for a soda!! Weird service not coming back…. As much as I liked the food .

I don't give out full stars very easily, so if I do, they did a wonderful job! Food: Everyone's plates looked wonderful. Great job of attention to detail. Came out at the same time. We had a party of 6 adults and 2 children. I ordered a carnitas burrito. Lots of flavor to unpack here. The green sauce was delicious and meat seasoned very well. Their red salsa for the chips has a little spicy kick to it! Loved it! Our wait person wax excellent. Always attentive. Nice decor, very warm and welcoming. Will definitely go back

Food was as okay as other Mexican restaurants in the area! Nothing super special. The margarita tasted straight up like sweet and sour mix and no alcohol haha. It was busy so service was as attentive as they could manage to be. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant decor is cute and probably is a nice after-work-hangout spot. Again, nothing special and I probably won’t eat there willingly again.

Only 2 stars because they have friendly servers and their camarones a la diabla were okay. Everything else gets 0 stars. Enchilada: sauce was bland, absolutely no taste. Chicken was dry and tasted old. Beans were salty. And lastly it felt like I was at a taco truck stand sitting on folding chairs. Probably should've went to one, I'm sure it would've tasted better and for half the price.
