Katie's Corner Tap

It's a local small town bar, the atmosphere is great, they had a good band playing when I was there. However I feel like the music should of been a lil louder had a hard time hearing the singer but if you wanted it as background music then that's probably a positive for you. Building was a lil warm but nothing crazy.. bartenders were friendly and quick.

On a recent Illinois visit. I had a few days to explore on my own and decided to hit some bars, taverns, and tap rooms that served up Pabst Blue Ribbon. Having lived in the Groveland area for many years, with several family members also from the area, I decided to give Katie's Corner Tap a try. Located in Groveland right at the corner of Springfield Road and Route 98 (Edgewater Drive), this bar has had various names over the years but a bar has occupied the space for as long as I can remember. My grandparents owned a small market across the road in the late '70s, and my grandfather, after a hard 8-hour 2nd shift at Caterpillar, likely stopped by here, way back in the day. It's a great little spot, very clean! It gives off a dive bar vibe, probably because it's been there forever, but it's nice inside and has a outdoor seating area as well. Plus some of the gambling machines that are in most Illinois bars these days. The afternoon I stopped in, a few locals occupied the bar, and a decent-sized crowd gathered for a CAT retirement party. The friendly bar staff served up my ICE COLD Pabst Blue Ribbon, and I sat for a while, taking it all in with a Cubs ball game on the TV above the bar. It was really cool being in a place that I have probably passed by a million times. It's definitely on my PBR to-do again list for the next time I'm in the area.

They have all the great bourbons. They have great bar pizza, when you sprinkle a little of “Butch’s All Purpose Hot Sauce” on it, it is definitely a knock out of the park!

I can say that the Karaoke Contest was not fair for the contestants who sung professionally but don’t even won bec the Pub depends on how many liquors you can buy in order to get more tickets in order to win. The more liquors or drinks you can get the more chance of winning ????

We stopped in with a big group and the staff was awesome. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. Beer is cold, mixed drinks were poured right. I didn't get food so I could not rate them on their quality. Clean and great place. Stop by and have a good time.
