I messaged them for an appointment for highlights and a trim for my curly hair. I haven't gotten highlights in my hair for years, and I wanted to finally go and get my hair done since it'd been so long. Since my hair is curly I do my best to take care of it which involves NEVER using heat on my hair, using a hair mask once a week and every time I shower I use a curl cream, a moose, and a silk bonnet. Needless to say, my hair is incredibly healthy and happy. When I asked for the appointment she asked me to send a picture of my hair and upon receiving she said my hair was too damaged to dye because it would break.... I know this is an issue with people who dye their hair very frequently or have dry thin hair, but my hair is not dry is not thin and again has not been dyed in years. There is no possible way for it to be damaged especially to that extent. I asked her why she thought it was damaged and she said she recommends a keratin treatment! If you don't know what that it, it would destroy my curly hair. Keratin treatments straighten out your hair completely to defrizz. If I did this, it would take years for my hair to become curly again. PLEASE if you have curly hair or honestly care about your hair's health do not go here. The entire conversation was completely rude, and I'm honestly happy she was or else my hair would be ruined.

I made an appointment for a women’s hair cut and wash with Kara hair salon through Yelp via texting. the hair salon’s response was prompt and they were very polite! I gave them a reference photo and they gave me exactly what I wanted :) I did wait to be serviced after my appointment time (around 30-40 mins) but I didn’t mind because it is a smaller shop, their prices are great and they take their time to make sure their clients are happy. Throughout my service they also gave me tips on how to style and how to care for my new style. I recommend Jay for hair cutting and Claire for styling. Overall it was a really nice experience, I will be coming back ??

Not sure why this happened but they abruptly stopped responding to my inquiry for an appointment. I called to get a quote for a haircut and color. The lady on the phone said she'll text me for the details. She asked for photos of my hair and what I wanted. I have black Asian hair but about 80% is bleached to a level 9 blonde. I wanted to get my roots done and redo my hair to a pure white. Lady said that's too much bleach and they can't do it. That's alright, I figured not every salon can do that. So I asked if we can just match my roots to my hair and do a haircut. Then they never replied back. I understand if they're not comfortable with the bleach, but I would have been happy with just a haircut. She just stopped responding so we never had the opportunity to talk about other options. I see that other customers have had similar experiences. I don't know why they do that. Kinda weird and very rude.

I’ve heard good reviews, but the service is quite disappointing. The hairstylists are kind, but due to short staff, they do not take good care of the customers. I came around 3:20 for the appointment. I’ve showed the perm style I want and had short moment of discussion (I have mid length hair) Jay looked at glance and warned me that my hair will be damaged, but we proceeded with agreement. It took me nearly 4 hrs for completion and out of 4 hrs, I was waiting for good 1hr sitting idle waiting for his hair assistant to take care of. Result was random C-Curl all at the bottom of my hair - look like an octopus now. Most of perm already got loose after assistant dried my hair. Jay was still busy with other customers - gave glance at my hair saying everything looks good. Lol If they are this short staffed and unable to give good care of customers, they should either hire more, or do not accept additional appt. I’m telling yall, my hair was NOT WORTH $300. You will not get a good care with the money you pay for. PS: Jay also gave me pretty offensive joke - calling my boyfriend is a sky and I’m a ground therefore should raise/support my men

I had an appointment at 3PM on Wednesday. They were still doing other customers' hair when I came in at 3PM, but I waited since I realized they were short staffed. They took me in after around 10 minutes of waiting and blew dry my hair. The female hairstylist then left and took in another customer. I ended up sitting there until 3:40PM, and they still haven't done my hair yet, so I decided to leave. It was disappointing since I came here before for hair coloring and was happy with the result. The male hairstylist apologized right away when I left, which I appreciated. However, I hope they don't overbook next time.
