Hook's BBQ

Ordered the 2 meat plate with chicken and pork. The pork had a great smoke taste and was really good. The chicken was overcooked it chicken is hard to manage. The plate did come with pound cake which was really good. The pork sandwich with fries was good. The sauces tasted more like wing sauce than bbq sauce. Overall it was ok.

I had the pulled pork dinner, the serving size was generous and the french fries were hot. However, the pulled pork did not have much flavor. It seemed more like steamed pork than smoked! Barbecue sauce was a very thin, watery tomato based sauce without much flavor. Flavorless on top of flavorless

Great BBQ, We only get take out. We call our order in and pick it up at the windows. The staff is always really nice and always glad to see you. We always order 2 Whiz Bang Sampler, more than enough for 3 or 4 folks. All I can say is YUM!!!

I think it's our new bbq spot. The food tastes very "homemade" and service was genuine. Regular Pork sandwich: nice portions, hit the spot just right and an AWESOME bbq sauce bar. 3 pumps sweet, 1 hot. Baked beans: oh yes, they actually make them and they're sooo good. Potato salad: takes me to a summer bbq, so fresh and refreshing. Dirty rice: YUM Bread slices: just white bread Sweet tea: pretty good, I liked. Pound cake: these little slices of goodness are just the right touch of sweetness. Military discount on Wednesday. Can park a truck there, but it'll be tight, maybe don't Sustain!!

So I love the price and the quality of the food ! The people were super nice and the establishment very clean! The combo was an amazing value. The fried okra was fantastic and the green beans very flavorful! The meat in my opinion was a little bland, which usually leads to award winning sauce. Sadly the sauce was ok and not great. But the meat was all super moist and wicked tender! I would go back and it's definitely worth a try while in town!
