Habanero Mexican Grill

Not sure about this place. It was different but not essentially Mexican in flavor. I had the Gonzalez Nachos and the predominant seasoning was salt. The wait staff was very nice and the meal came quickly. I did not have to wait for a table on a Wednesday evening. I hope there were Mexicans in the kitchen, because there were none visible on the floor. That fact, and the fact that there was American pop music playing on the speakers, and the unremarkable flavors of the food, made it seem like it was not a Mexican restaurant at all.

I have mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly, and the restaurant itself is clean, which is always a plus. However, my main issue was with the food. We specifically ordered dishes without meat, but they initially came with meat. While our server was apologetic and took the order back, it was evident that the kitchen reused the same plate and rice, as there were still pieces of meat in the dish. This was disappointing, and we had to send it back again, opting to order something else instead. The beers are priced at $5 per bottle, though it's worth noting there are no draft options. If you're dining with a larger group (more than six people), be prepared for a 20% gratuity charge. Additionally, there's an automatic non-cash adjustment fee, which assumes you'll be using a credit card. As for the food, it was just okay. It certainly didn't taste like authentic Mexican cuisine. Despite the good service and clean environment, I don't think I'll be returning.

It's my favorite spot in Draffenville! Ordered something new today, loved it! Chicken shrimp bacon skewers is now my #1 choice. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside on the deck.

WHAT HAPPENED? Went here after our daughter's graduation. Have been there before and the food was pretty good. This time we didn't even get served. We were seated and given chips and a menu. 25 minutes went by and no one came to take our order. I thought they must be busy but then I saw people who had been there 5 minutes having their order taken. Went to the front desk and let them know. They acted shocked and said they would take care of it. 5 minutes later still nothing. Offered to pay for the chips and left. Don't know what's going on with this place. I am local and hate to leave a bad review but don't think I will be returning.

Two Tacos, rice and beans. Nice clean restaurant, waitress was good, beer was cold.
