I highly recommend this restaurant. My husband and I take an annual trip to southern Illinois and this place is our highly anticipated treat. The perfect date night spot. Please do everyone a favor and make a reservation, although the wait is worth it. Up to you. Either way, check this place out if you’re in or around Carbondale. Depending on weather, the courtyard is lovely.

The food was delicious for sure. Have been here twice now and both times the experience was wonderful, start to finish. My only issue is that it is a little pricey for myself. With tip it was around $120 to $130 for two meals, two drinks and an appetizer. Was the food and service worth it, yes. Just not a place someone who is barely making it can afford to frequent unfortunately ????.

We were traveling and I needed special diet food. We thought this restaurant would fit my needs. When we arrived, we were treated like we were not important enough to be there, maybe because we were traveling and weren't dressed up and we probably appeared tired. The snobby waitress acted like she was doing us a favor when we didn't have a reservation, and put us in an area with tiny tables, too close together . I'm a small person and had difficulty getting up without my behind touching the next table person's shoulder. The menu was only 4 choices. Our food was extremely bland at best. We spent about 100.00 for a small plate of noodles no meat, and a piece of bone in undercooked chicken covered with some sort of sauce to cover up the fact it was dry and undercooked or whatever. I couldn't eat it. And a tiny cup of soda in a fancy glass, and tiny glass of wine. Plus, I didn't appreciate the waitresses wearing their skirts so short,and low cut tops , constantly pulling it down and bending over with our tables very close to us.. We will definitely not be back. Hopefully it was just a bad day, but we had to go eat elsewhere afterwards, because we were unable to eat the food and it was a waste of money.

What an excellent bistro. Service, food and atmosphere were outstanding. I wish I could remember our servicer's name (#9 on the receipt on Sept 27). He was training a new server. They both were very attentive. G.G. adds a touch of sophistication to the Carbondale restaurant scene.

Amazing food. I had soup, steak and an awesome desert. Highly recommend.
