El Taco Shop

The food here is very good. I don’t care for the seating though so it’s only take out for me. You order/pay for your food and drinks at the register and then you go and find your own table. They bring you your food, but you fix your own drinks, salsas and get you own utensils. It reminds me somewhat of a buffet without the actual buffet. You won’t get a complimentary basket of chips and salsa either. If you want that, you have to order when you first come in. Their guacamole is the best I’ve ever had.

I came here for lunch with my wife, and I was pleasantly surprised with the great value one can get from eating here. The food is well-seasoned and is decently price. The portions are great. They do not give chips and salsa whenever you first sit down, but that is okay. I appreciate that all the toppings are available at the little bar, and I wish they had Coke products instead of Pepsi, but otherwise, this place will become one of our normal rotation spots. Before we found this place, we went to Sol often, and Sol was more expensive.

This is the most authentically Mexican of the gringo Mexican restaurants in Montgomery and has a nice atmosphere. If you don’t know what to order, you have to order at the counter. If you don’t want to feel rushed I suggest deciding from the online menu I ahead of time. My son and I both enjoyed our food, which arrived quickly, making it great for lunch.

Love El Taco Shop. A must stop for my crew any time we travel thru Montgomery. Never had a bad meal here. Everything is good.

This is a decent place for Mexican food. The tacos I got were a little bland but were still worth the price.
