A & A Bar-B-Que

It's good, BBQ, no doubt about it. The people of Bay City are blessed to have this restaurant. Would I drive an hour just to eat there and drive an hour back home, No. I just happened to be driving thru Bay City. So if you're in the neighborhood of Bay City, yes, go there.

Decided to try due to the high review. Highly disappointed! $14.06 for two ribs and a scoop of chopped beef and 3 sides not worth it. Nice service but the food is not worth the price. Will not return.

The first plate (my plate) is sausage, brisket, and ham with bacon and onion mashed potatoes in the bowl, coleslaw, and potato salad. The second plate (wife's plate) had brisket, ribs, and pork with macaroni and cheese, bacon and onion mashed potatoes, and Texas green beans. The sausage I liked very much, good flavor and the sauce enhanced it although the sausage was good without the sauce. The brisket was hard and dry and without flavor on my plate and the sauce didn't do much for it. I like a brisket that is moist and can stand on its own. This brisket fell far from that. On the second plate it was a little bit moist but still didn't have much flavor if any. The ham was good as ham can be, nothing special that stood out. I did enjoy the sides very much. The mashed potatoes tasted very good with lots of flavor, they did these right. The coleslaw was also very good, it was a vinaigrette which was different for me but I liked them very much. Well done! The potato salad was also different from what I have had, everything was mashed together and a bit creamy. It also had a good taste and was enjoyable. Ribs were good but not amazing, taste was there but they were a little bit cool. The pork was alright, was expecting a pulled pork but it was just sliced. Ate it with the bread and pickles and sauce. Macaroni and cheese was nothing to be happy about, not much taste and wasn't cheesy enough. When I go to a smoke house and get macaroni and cheese I am expecting something with plenty of cheese and also smoked! Wasn't worth getting. The Texas green beans on the other hand was very good with lots of flavor, the best I have had! Price was good for the amount of food that was presented. We spent $20 a plate with a drink. As for the stars I would only give 3.5 if it was possible, A&A is better than average but not by much. So I rounded up to 4 stars. I would go back if asked to go by friends or family but not a place I would be excited about.

The BBQ is always good here, I usually get the baked potatoe with chopped beef. 5/5 stars from me. The store is kinda out of style/rundown on the inside. The outside is ok, plenty of parking. The workers are nice and the desserts are very good. I come here like every other week and its so good everytime. Ide reccomend for someije looking for a BBQ spot but would recommend get your food and go eat at home or at the park.

Manager either retrained your employees or make your menu understandable. Either way we will not be returning. Do that display a menu that says you offer 3 different meats on your plate and refuse to mix chicken and beef on the same plate. Even after your customers offer to pay more.
