Yamato Japanese Restaurant

I just picked up $49 + tip worth of sushi and food from Yamato. The food was god awful. All of the rice was dry and crunchy! How is that possible for a sushi restaurant!!! The sushi just crumbled. The tempura style veggie dinner was just giant pieces of greasy vegetables. The only good thing about the meal was the miso soup and it barely had flavor. Such a shame knowing that I have had incredible meals there in the past. Do not waste your precious money here.

I’ve only eaten in the restaurant 3 times. I usually get take out. I got take out last night. I was VERY disappointed. I walked in, it was hot and musty inside. It looked kind of dirty as well. Normally when I walk in, I get a warm welcome and happy faces. That didn’t happen. I don’t know if it was a bad night or what but they need to step it up. My food, well it was okay. It wasn’t the best I’ve had from here, that’s for sure.

Chelsea, our waitress was absolutely phenomenal! Quick of wit and fleet of foot. Always attentive to the customer. The food was excellent. Except the soup was served cold. Both windows and blinds are dirty.

Never once have I ever had a bad meal or bad service. All staff are friendly, courteous and professional. Sit at the sushi bar and talk with the owner as he makes your tuna rolls fresh in front of you. It's not just lunch, it's an experience.

A place I would stop in again if I was in the area. They have great lunch options and decent prices. They have hibachi options that are prepared in the kitchen and brought out. No show. It is a small restaurant with good decore. The bathroom might benefit from an update. If you like Americanized Japanese style food, this is a good place to visit.
