Interesting hidden gem that we hit when travelling with a large group. The famous wet burrito was pretty good, as were the French dip and burgers. The minimal staff of 2 did a GREAT job accommodating what was obviously an unexpected large group on a Sunday night. The reason I only gave 3 stars is that the restrooms need a remodel ???? and the prices were just a touch higher than I would have expected. I would return if in the area and stuck for a place to get some food.
Food was just OK. Server was really nice. Burgers came out a bit under temp, curly fries were over done and hard, long Islands tasted like the melted ice water after drinking a fountain pop, couldn't taste any alcohol at all. The chili was great, though.
The only thing this place has going for it is the delicious fries. Came in for lunch around 2p on a Friday. Server didn't know anything about any beers they had. Took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Didn't even take our food order till we had been sitting there for 45 minutes. 90 minutes into our dining we finally got our food... And it definitely wasn't worth the wait. My salad was served on a plate, not a bowl, and looked like some basic bagged romaine and some sliced up deli meat. I waited 90 minutes for this and paid $12!!! Wish we would have stayed at the deli around the corner.
It used to be better. A big group of us would go every Tuesday for tacos. Then the prices started going up. Some orders were messed up. One guy asked for Sprite and was given Mountain Dew or Mellow Yellow. He even told the waitress he was allergic to caffeine. I just went back again on Monday and had the Wayside Whopper. Probably one of the best pub style burgers you will get in Montague. It's still a good place to stop if you aren't in a hurry.
Best burger I've ever ordered. Thick and juicy, cooked perfectly. Good bun, doesn't get soggy. Fries were also very good! A+ (wayside roadhouse burger basket).
