As someone who cares more about food quality then asthetics, this place is outstanding! It's not fancy but it is delightful all the way around. The original soda fountain vibe is in tack; a reminder of yester years. Family owned for decades with incredible food (seriously!) it will be a place you'll want to frequent. Soup (cup or bowl), sandwiches (1/2 or whole), salads, pies, ice cream and more. A local introduced us to this charming place, the food cinched our desire to return. 7 of us experienced creamy asparagus soup (in season), cheeseburger quesadilla, egg salad, tomatoes soup and grilled cheese and of course, ice cream and malts (you get everything in the metal shaker - enough for 2 large drinks). On our first visit, the owned mentioned that if you let her know, the day before, a soup you'd like, she'd have it on the menu the next day. We asked for beef-barley-mushroom soup and returned the next day and true to her word, it was one of the soup options. We also tried that soup, the asparagus tortilla and corn bread too; of course ice cream and malts for dessert. Everything was delicious both days and we were so full we didn't have room for the pies they're famous for BUT that too will happen. Highly recommend this place for great food, great service and heartwarming nostalgia. Absolutely delightful experiences 2 days in a row!
I absolutely love this place. You can get old fashioned phosphates, malts and real shakes. They have sandwiches, souos, and salads. They ONLY accept cash so be sure to have it at hand.
Adorable classic soda shoppe. This is a great place to stop for a quick lunch or snack and a delicious sweet treat that’s a blast from the past. Kid friendly, great service and a wonderful chef behind the counter. The prices are hard to beat too.
Best place around! Had the delight of speaking with the owner, Patty, when we went in. She was scooping ice cream so her worker could have the day off. Gave us the history of the place as her father owned the pharmacy and soda fountain there. She is usually the chef and can be found in the kitchen during the week. She makes everything from scratch daily so if you have allergies she knows exactly what's in the menu items. The ice cream is top notch and the nostalgia can't be beat. There is a lot of history displayed throughout so if you're a history buff you'll learn a lot about the area on your visit; especially if you say hello to Patty! Prices are the best in the county! Great place for families, couples, or the solo person looking for a quiet respite and a quick bite. Highly recommend!
Nice place. Food was different from what I'm used to. I'm not saying it was bad, just different. I ordered the beef, cheddar, and onions. A half order would have been plenty of food for me. The chicken salad has cranberries mixed in. Next time, I'll try a shake or float. Prices are very reasonable.
