Upside Down Plaza

Sometimes you wanna go where everyone knows your name (and people aren't afraid to drink enough to forget it). The plaza is the perfect dive if you're not tryna be cute and you're not trying to drink cute. The bartenders are friendly and the drinks are cheap. There are plenty trendy places with cool lights and decor and Instagrammable views--that ain't this. The plaza is about drinking, pool and whoever you bring with you. Everything else (good bathrooms, fancy drinks, trendy anything) is a distant (non existent) second.

Do not expect anything fancy. Maybe do not use restrooms. Otherwise It's a great hangout spot for a student on a budget ... Cheap Bier, ton of pool tables... Fun place. Will come again.

I've always loved this bar. After moving to Alabama from Michigan this place makes me feel welcomed and I can always count on my trip there being a good one. The drinks are cheap (but good), I love getting to pick the music, and the pool tables are great too. The bartenders are super nice! Shout out to Max who always recommends some delicious drinks and always has a smile on his face. Definitely recommend this bar!!

Your local bar feel. I enjoyed our time here employees were friendly drink prices are excellent. They had a live band playing. Pool tables, ping-pong machine, couple of video games. My friend and I played the game find the differences in the pictures lol we had a great time and walked back to our hotel! Good times with with good people.

We only spent 1 night in Birmingham and we wanted to play pool. We picked this place because it looked kinda cool on the website. The bartender was awesome, and it was busy! Also they stay open until people leave... We left around 4 am I think. Otherwise the place is kinda gross. The valley pool tables aren't taken care of. Sticky felt with drink stains on all them. And it's a basement bar so it smells funky. Also be prepared to pay $5 for a membership. I guess that's an Alabama thing. We had a great time, we didn't mind the seedy dive bar scene.
