Tongy's Shmack House

Sunday lunch got us stopping at this college sports bar located in a strip mall. At first glance, we weren’t certain if it was open and/or still in business. Exterior has darkened windows that give the impression that the place is empty. Once inside, we found an open floor plan with a cement floor, industrial look with exposed ductwork overhead, bar, pool tables, flat screen TVs and a small bandstand. The norm for any bar and grill. Furnishings had seen their better days as padded high chairs were ripped and torn, batting exposed, table tops scratched and worn. But overall, the place seemed clean. Bathrooms are not for the faint of heart. Menu offers a better selection of pub grub with unique names and descriptions for appetizers, sandwiches, wraps and burgers. Our “ROGUE TACOS” came with the following tagline: “These tacos, like JAWS swim alone, 3 fish tacos with beer battered fish, pico de gallo, lettuce, and cheese. Topped with a chipotle lime drizzle served inside warm flour tortillas. Feel free to substitute shrimp. Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun dun-dun-dun.” We were more than happy with the ample amount of grilled fish in each, topped with flavorful, fresh ingredients and nicely presented with two sauces and a side. Our side of mac was cheesy, creamy with larger size elbow macaroni. Menu prices are more than reasonable and if are looking for good food over ambiance-well, just to remind you this is a sports bar.

Good food, great prices, big portions

I’m at this bar and the rude man that works here with the galaxy tattoo the left arm is VERY rude. I would like to say that if you would like to be at a bar until they close DO NOT COME HERE! They kick you out earlier than closing time. Which I understand but they close you out in a very rude way. Hopefully for better service the manager or owner can handle this soon so people visiting out of town and have a better experience here.

Delicious food and a fun, lively atmosphere. The veggie wrap was surprisingly delicious, and my wife loved her burger. The homemade sides were fantastic too. Great spot for a meal!

Best place we've stopped at in a while. Food was delicious, portions were enormous! Especially for their low prices. We will absolutely be back!
