The Smoking Pig Tavern

Good food! We shared a Pig Out Platter (not sure about the name)... it was supposed to serve 2, but we fed 3 and took all the pulled chicken and most of the pulled pork home. I made chicken salad and pork and noodles w the leftovers! I've had better brisket.

The waitress was EXTREMELY nice and she is 5 stars all on her own. She had no problem splitting our check 3 ways and moving tables together. She kept track of who was on what check even though we were split up along the table. I live near Chicago, so it was really nice not to have the waitress scoff at us for making her job harder. The food was good and really inexpensive for the platter they offer. My husband and I still had leftovers for the next day. I LOVED the atmosphere and the repurposed bowling alley lanes used as table and counter tops.

GO HERE! Oh my word. We stopped here on a whim in between legs of a road trip and I cannot say enough good things! The food is amazing. The Pig Out says it will feed 2 but really probably 3 people. The fried green beans are amazing. Even our 7yr old said 'that was a great dinner' and wanted to try a bite of everything.

The food was great! We ordered the dinner for 2. When it arrived, the portions were big enough to fill us both up and took some home even. The dessert, well you can't win them all. Clearly smoking meat is their speciality. I would definitely recommend!

Our waitress was very very nice, and helpful. The pulled chicken was a little dry, and the smoked pork was way overcooked and dry. Cole slaw, beans, and corn pudding were great, as well as the fried green tomatoes ( delish)
