Stopped in at the food truck court at the Blacksmith Public House, in Redmond. We were visiting the area over the weekend with family. I decided to order from the Kilted Kitchen, as their Shepard Pie offering attracted my attention. So, we ordered the Sheppard's pie and the Scottish fries with BBQ chicken. There are several food trucks/trailers arranged in the patio area of the public house, offering a variety of foods. For a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too busy, surprisingly. We picked up our food, sat down and enjoyed! I have to say, I really liked the flavors and presentation of the Sheppard's pie. And the portion size. I finished it, but I was stuffed. So good. And, the Scottish fries were a hit, also. So good! Glad we tried this place.
The brisket and pulled pork is amazing. Wonderful truck, always incredibly pleasant and personable. The blacksmith public house has great vibes to enjoy a drink while eating their food. If you didnt know they offer fries with pork/brisket on top and its amazing.
I found mouth-watering comfort food in Redmond and our new favorite food truck in central Oregon. We ate at a food truck at The Bite in Tumalo yesterday and today we ate at a The Kilted Kitchen at The Blacksmith Public House. The Kilted Kitchen had excellent BBQ brisket with caramelized seasoned onions and BBQ Chicken with an amazing pickle slaw. The Blacksmith Public House is much classier than The Bite and much cleaner. Polite staff, clean truck and great food!
The kilted kitchen has done it. They've pulled the trifecta of culinary perfection. As we've learned from our foody travels, great restaurants must have great food, great people, and an inviting atmosphere. These guys make a food truck feel like family. I was welcomed by Cameron at the window who really had a passion for helping me find the right dish for the moment. We eventually decided on the Rob Roy on a bed of chips (highly recommend). These chips(fries) were perfect especially when you top them with the brisket. the portions were more than enough for my insatiable appitite. We then spoke about the new blacksmith public house for a sec and he went on to recommend all the amazing dishes at the other food trucks. This caught me off guard when he was recommending that next time I should try the burger at one of the other food trucks. He's really in the game for the success of everyone. What a breath of fresh air. By recommending others services, you just got a customer for life. I then met Scott, the owner who told me all about the history of his family and business and chosen dishes. These guys really do have a passion for what they give the world. Please go and support Scott, Terra, and Cameron at the Kilted kitchen. They've shown me they deserve every star and more.
