Ended up here for lunch today. From the moment you walk in, you feel extremely welcomed. There's everything honey you could want, and a restaurant too! I ordered the Stuffed Shrooms Burger, and OMG! From the delicious side salad (with fresh bee pollen) to the bun, this was a delicious meal! Tons of flavor and the combo of the cheeses was perfect! I also got my wife a piece of "Ukrainian Honey Cake" and she said it's the best she's ever had. The fresh honey taste is just right! Great job to The HIVE!
Cant believe Ive only discovered this place.....through a recommendation! As a lover of all things honey I just had to try all the samples....but trying ti be more self aware, I opted for only 3 :) They have two service counters, one for honey sampling and the other to order food and bev. Service was great; staff friendly and knowledgeable of product. Food is pricey; which is okay because it covers the cost of their honey. I thought their honey was a great deal! Can only imagine the costs to operate a place like that in 2023...sigh Anyway, highly recommend a visit if youre out in woodland. I would go there instead of a brewery. They carry beer, wine, and of course MEAD!
This is such a cool place to stop near Sacramento! Perfect to hit up right after flying in or before flying out. They have free honey tasting, and you wouldn't believe how different honey tastes till you try it! They serve meads, which I didn't try but heard they were delicious. They offer several different flight options. To top it all off they also serve food, from a snack to a whole meal with dessert. There's an outside patio that's absolutely darling to sit and enjoy the weater. I highly recommend stopping by this place!
The Hive recently began brunch and it is my new favorite brunch place in Woodland! Diverse menu and the three things we got exceeded expectations! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out very quickly despite multiple orders ahead of us. After our meal the chef checked in with us too. Great experience all around!
I was looking for a place to eat with outdoor seating area and stumbled across this gem. Place was actually a tasting room with a surprisingly variety of food choices. I like that they have vegetarian choices as well. My friend and I had the little gem salad, beet salad, mezzo board, grilled cheese sandwich and apple cider drink. Little Gem Salad The salad was a mix of radicchio and endives sprinkled with breadcrumbs. The endives were incredibly crisp with sweet/nutty flavor. It also had a pleasantly hint of bitterness. The vinaigrette took the salad up a notch perfectly balancing all the different tastes by adding a sweet, sour and savory flavor. It also helped the crumbs cling to each individual leaf rather than falling to the bottom like croutons. Croutons are so yesterday lol. It's almost like breading for your salad. Sinfully tasty! Grilled Cheese Let me present to you this photo of the best grilled cheese sandwich. It hails from the Hive tasting room and it completely blew my mind. Picture two perfectly toasted slices of focaccia bread (probably dipped in butter, or at least one can hope), stuffed with melting lamb chopper, gouda cheese, dijon and caramelized onions. The sandwich is served alongside a cup of creamy tomato soup. Definitely a must try. My friend had the beet salad. I had a taste of it and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed the mezzo board with the yummy hummus alongside the olives, veggies and bread. Customer Service Beatrice took our order and served us. She was amazing. We had questions about the mead tasting and she answered it thoroughly. She was super friendly and professional. Restrooms were clean and parking was ample. Not sure where you would park if it's crowded...maybe street parking. Restrooms were clean. Overall, love the ambiance. Lots of seating outside and makes me really comfortable to dine out with lots of room for social distancing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!
