Sylvester's MS Style BBQ

I ordered the rib plate with baked beans and mac and cheese and the rib tip plate with baked beans and fries. The ribs and rib tips were so tender!! Both plates came with a slice of buttered and toasted light bread. The baked beans were sweet, but I personally like them that way. The mac and cheese was good. The fries weren't my favorite but they aren't bad. I'm just not a fan of thick fries. Overall, everything was good. I got there at about 10:56a and there was already 1 person standing at the door waiting and 3 more sitting in their cars. I left at 11:08a and the line was to the door. So go early.

The atmosphere is wonderful. They are friendly and fast-paced. There is usually a 15-minute wait with call-in orders . The lady rotates the lines with no problem. My tips were a little dry but overall, I will still support.

This place is fantastic. The food is seasoned well and tasty. 95% of the staff are friendly, and you are made to feel welcomed. Depending on who is behind the cash register will determine if you will receive a greeting or not. I advise you to get the rib tip basket. They are so tender. Pros: Great food, nice quantity, great variety. Cons: Never enough food prepared to handle the volume of costumers when they open. I've been there when they unlock the door at 11:30, and after serving 3 customers, you telling everyone is a 30 min- to an hour wait on rib tips and ribs. Also, the BBQ is too sweet. Sylvester needs to go back to the drawing board on his BBQ sauce. Doesn't taste that good. Prices: The food is a bit pricey, but you have to understand that food costs have gone up tremendously. Advice: #1 - They should cook enough food to have ready when they open. Customers should have to wait on food after you have been open only 15 minutes. #2 - Be there when they open the door. I go at 11:00 am and now I'm usually the 2nd person in line. If you go early, you have a better chance of getting your food and not have to wait over an hour for more to come if the smoker. #3 - Call in your order ahead of time. When you call in your order, you can skip the line when you arrive at the restaurant. You go straight to the front and lay for your order and get your food. Overall, it's a great restaurant, and I go back every chance I get. I just have to go early to be at the head of the line.

Man the chicken was off the chain! Sausage is awesome! Can't wait to go back and try the ribs.

My favorite & only spot to get BBQ. I had to work this Saturday but soon as I got off work I stopped by here to get me & my wife & good meal. I had to wait almost a hour cause they didn't have any ribs ready. But when they called me & told my order was ready EVERYTHING was on ten just like it always is. The food was prepared exactly how I ordered it & it was Hot and definitely good... It you haven't tried Sylvester's then you missing out so put this spot on your to-do list!
