Great service. the prices for the fish is excellent If you’re looking for the freshest catch without sinking your wallet, S&Y Fish Market is the hidden gem you’ve been dreaming of. Nestled just off the main strip, this market isn’t flashy—but once you step inside, the scent of the sea and the vibrant displays of glistening fish and shellfish immediately let you know you’ve found the real deal. What truly sets S&Y fish apart are the unbeatable prices. Wild-caught salmon? Half the cost you’d pay at a big chain store. Jumbo shrimp? This supermarket is ok if you like Caribbean, Jamaican and west Indian foods. It needs to serve all needs of the community. There is no organic foods, like milk and meat and very low on American food. Produce is not the best. I'm hoping the owner or owners in the future think about incorporating American groceries like bread, cereal, meat, organic products and such to serve all of us not just the Caribbean foods
this is honestly the biggest caribbean supermarket i've been to in new york or anywhere on the east coast. sy grace just expanded and now they have everything you could possibly need. the produce section is always stocked with fresh stuff. they have the biggest selection of ackee and tastee products i've seen anywhere, which is huge for me since i use those brands all the time. the new thing that has me excited is their steamed food takeout menu. being able to grab steamed fish and vegetables on the way home has been so convenient, and the food is actually really good quality. it's been cool watching sy grace grow over the years. they've managed to expand while still feeling like a community staple. you can get your regular groceries plus all those specialty caribbean ingredients that are impossible to find elsewhere. definitely the go-to spot for caribbean groceries in the area. they've really set the standard for what a caribbean supermarket should be.
I REALLY LIKE THIS MARKET, IT IS OLD CARIBBEAN STYLE, THEY HAVE ALL THE INGREDIENTS I NEED IN HERE , AND A FEW EXTRAS... THE FISH I GET HERE IS FRESH , THE PRODUCE IS GREAT, LOCATED RIGHT OFF BOSTON ROAD IN THE NORTH BRONX RIGHT NEAR DYER AVE, STOP IN AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND, THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE, AND THEY TAKE EBT CARDS .....THIS MARKET IS NOT A SUPER MARKET SO THEY DO NOT SELL EVERYTHING YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BUT INGREDIENTS YOU MIGHT NEED TO MAKE AN AUTHENTIC CARIBBEAN DISH IS SOLD HERE, LOVE THIS PLACE BEST TIME TO GO IS MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON, TRAIN NEAR IS THE 5 TRAIN AND THE 16 BUS, NOT TO FAR FROM CO OP CITY
If you want to experience all things Caribbean in the way of food and groceries, you have to check out Grace Mart at 4018B Boston Road in the Bronx. I was completely overwhelmed by the vast variety of food and grocery items I found. They also how a fish market and a wide selection of quality, garden-fresh produce. For example, some stores in the area carry one or two brands of canned ackee. Here they carry six different brands. The staff is friendly and the store is well stocked. Grace Mart is a real game changer for Caribbean cuisine lovers.
