Sub Tropics

Surprised this place is still in business. Went in today to get sandwiches for my family. Good luck ordering anything with fish because, although it’s on the menu, they do not have fish. Ended up getting two cubanos, (both came out cold and were prepared without gloves), and a meatball sub. Got a smoothie too, advertised as a “fruit smoothie” and watched them blend ice and boxed smoothie mix. Smoothies are super concentrated and not fresh at all. Got home to eat the meatball sub, and found this in the middle of the sandwich. Went back to let the owner know, and he took the piece of plastic, threw it away and said “i’m sorry.” Didn’t offer any reparations, refunds, or anything. Highly disappointed. Place is dirty too.

I went today for the first time because I read they had Cuban sandwiches plus I’ve heard great things about this place. Anyway, the Cuban tasted just like one you would get in Florida. It was pressed to perfection. Everything was on point!! Oh, and I grabbed a homemade chocolate chip cookie too that was delicious! I will be back??

Last time trying this place, after driving almost an hour to get here and find them closed again. Arrived at 1pm to find doors locked even though hours on Google state 10:30-2pm on Sunday. Already only open 3 1/2 hours on Sunday and apparently that is too much to handle. Not the first time this has happened and we won't make that mistake again plenty of other options in the area.

The food itself isn’t bad. The old man behind the counter took me and my girlfriend’s order and gave us the wrong sizes and wrong cheeses. When i noticed my size was wrong i said to the young woman making my sub “That’s a half and i ordered a whole” she just pretended i didn’t say anything. then at the end they ask for a tip! For what? AVOID THIS PLACE.

The guys working there had a great and affordable sub. I tore it up as soon as I got back to the beach, which is only a 5-minute walk away. However, the service is a bit slow.
