Star Nails

I showed up early before they were busy for a gel manicure. I asked for details on every nail and they did a fabulous job! It’s been a few days and they still look fabulous(no chipping like some other reviews mentioned). They were super nice and seemed to care that they did nails that I liked. I will be back any time I want fun details like this and I would recommend them. Their prices are good and better if you pay in cash!

Giving this a two only because the staff were nice. Otherwise, I’m not thrilled about the set I got. I got the dip, like normal, but the color looked nothing like the “example nail” even though the label was correct, and my nails currently look like bulbs…not uniform or nicely shaped at all. My nails unfortunately are NOT well done. Not only that, I think I had three staff work on my nails during the hour I was there…also not normal.

**EDIT : I went in on Friday night originally. By Saturday my nails were chipping. I called on Monday because I worked all weekend. Made an appointment for them to fix them on Tuesday. I show up and it was busy, but they did not even act like they cared. They sat me down and talked about my nails without asking me anything about them, just talking to each other about it. They decided the way to “fix” my nails was by filing them down a little, painting all the tops of my nails white and then painting two coats of top coat on top and sending me on my way. I was in and out in 15 minutes. They didn’t act like they cared at all. When I looked at my nails, the tops are not even at all, the paint job makes them look cracked at the tops now. I will NOT be coming back here. I found out later from another friend who goes to another salon said that her nail tech told her NEVER use the tools they did on my nails, it’s a waste of time and only lasts a week or so. I’m so beyond frustrated. I was friendly and kind to them and tipped nicely. They lost a customer for life. ** I went in because a friend/coworker got her nails fixed here after a bad experience at another salon. Once I saw her nails I knew I needed to come here, and man I am SO glad I did! We went after work one day, my nails were grown out, nothing like what I wanted and needed major help. They handled it in such stride! They filled with perfection and gave me the shape I was looking for. They had such details that the other salon just missed completely. When I left I hated the color I chose on my nails. I called them and told them and they asked me to come back the same day, even though they were closing in 15 minutes and said they wanted to fix it. I left there with nails that are exactly what I wanted and I can’t wait to go back for my next fill. The ladies there were ALL so sweet and kind and professional! Everyone I spoke with had been working at the salon for YEARS, which is so cool. I will be going back and I wish I started with them first. Reasonably priced and the sweetest people in Eagan!

I have gone to Star Nails for many years. The nail techs always do a fantastic job. The staff is friendly, professional and strive to keep things very clean and tidy. I have never been unhappy with a service there and I usually get a acrylic fill plus a pedicure. I highly recommend Star Nails.

I cannot say enough good things about Star! I have been going here for about 5 years but over the last 2 I’ve gotten much more creative (and ambitious) with the designs I want. They have never turned an idea down and are always up for a challenge! They definitely have 2 or 3 nail techs who specialize in designs more than others but all are amazing (especially Michelle). There is sometimes a wait but they work hard to get you in a chair as soon as they can. Everyone is extremely friendly, especially the man who sits near the front of the store. He is always happy to chat and make you laugh. Every single time I get a design set done I’m astounded by how affordable it is, especially compared to other places in Eagan, so I always make sure to tip very well. Also, if you pay in cash they give you a 10% discount so make sure to stop at an ATM before your visit. I’ll try and attach some photos of the sets I’ve had done here before, all are usually around $45-$55. Overall, I love going to Star and watching them work their magic, they amaze me every time!
