Taking a leisurely stroll along the bridge to the lake is very pleasant, with beautiful scenery along the way. It's also suitable for cycling or jogging. There are parking spaces available at the beginning of the bridge. I highly recommend everyone to come here to enjoy the scenery of the lake area.
The bridge gives you a closer up view of the lake. You can see fish flopping in the water and flocks of birds skim across the lake and heron near the shore. It’s a nice walk to the north side about a two mile plus walk to the discovery center. The water smells bad though from across the embankment with pipes connecting it with the larger side of the lake. Could be from boats dumping their waste or just runoff from land. The parking lot is hard to access if you’re coming from the south side. You’ll have to cut across double yellow lines. The parking on the bridge side is limited. It’s also not allowed on the bigger bridge crossing the lake during snow season beginning October 15.
I saw Jackie or Shadow when I went for an early evening walk. You don't always see bald eagles, but there are always interesting birds along the boardwalk. Nice place for an after work walk. Fairly level and paved/boardwalk, so an easy place for a walk.
The observation bridge made the place very nice. When you take photos, the bridge added for drama to the place. The background hills and the marsh and the clouds made it so cozy and nature. There is a good parking place and a good place to relax.
A beautiful and peaceful walk, just keep in mind that the mosquitoes come out at dusk.
